I've seen and reposted a few of these but for me, the GOAT is Marlene Dietrich in MOROCCO (1930), so all of these, and more, but particularly the left of the tryptich.

In all of them, a frankly astonishingly beautiful white person who is usually historically read as a woman but was often deliberately ambiguous with gender. Dietrich regards the camera with heavily lidded deep-set eyes and 1930s curls, while wearing a bow tie, top hat, black tuxedo and a white shirt with a white handkerchief in the breast pocket.

In the right hand photo Dietrich is leant to one side, legs crossed, hat at a jaunty angle, cigarette in hand, challenging the viewer with a direct gaze.

In the middle, Dietrich is more close up in a standard portrait, cigarette hanging loosely from the corner of the mouth.

In the left hand photo, Dietrich's chin is raised, eyes looking downwards while adjusting the bow tie and dear god I am not a suit fan, but Dietrich is the archetype for folks being so hot that tuxedo should burst into flames and/or so cool that a glacier give the fuck up and go home. Is icy smouldering a thing? If not the gods probably took notes and made it a thing afterwards and this photo always makes me do the old cartoon wolf with eyes on stalks and tongue rolling out.

So a friend heard rumours of a stray kitten going in and out of shops. Posted "Is this your cat notices" etc, but they have 3 cats of their own. So we are babysitting a beautiful unchipped, unsnipped Nameless Black Void until Monday, when, if no-one has replied to the posts, we shall Vet checkup.

So I expanded on a bluesky post a little, wrote a blog and x-posted it to facebook, which I rarely use. Friend shared it and someone *really* didn't get on with it. But having to explain daimons being used in something which is Ancient Greek related, & that they are not a WH40K thing makes me sad

A Facebook user is catastrophically wrong about my usage of daimons/daemons in a post a Friend shared. User's comment reads: "Ok, lets start “profusional” which looks like it could be a word, but isn’t.
Another would be “daimon/daemon” neither of which would be correct in that context, one is a bundle of antisemetic tropes bundled into a big eared caricature from an idealised corner of science fiction, the other being an evil extra planar entity from a grim dark future."

Was it petty to link to a medical journal which uses profusional? Yes. Do I care? Nope.
