We’ve chosen today, June 28th, to make this announcement as our own little way of honouring our community elders who kickstarted the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement in 1969 with the Stonewall riots.

Solitude Over Control was mixed by our very own Luna Frighthouse and mastered by the legendary James Plotkin.

The vocalist describes the lessons she learned about why abusers do what they do, and directly confronts perpetrators of abuse and everyone complicit in silencing victims. The lyrics are a modern take on the ‘cautionary tales’ women used to tell to keep one another safe from predators and abusers.

100

Mrs Frighthouse @mrsfrighthouse.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

It’s an unapologetically feminist song that criticises the power structures and culture of silence that enable abuse. It describes how physical touch is used by abusers as a weapon of control, rather than something they ‘can’t help’.

Mrs Frighthouse @mrsfrighthouse.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

‘My Body is a Crime Scene’ will be released as a single on 5th June 2025. This song embodies all that we want Mrs Frighthouse to be, and the words ‘My Body Is A Crime Scene’ are some of the few lyrics on our debut album written before the band existed.
