Thank you for the kind words! I just feel bad when I take long breaks because my skill level resets to zero and I have to start all over again. I don't make much progress drawing sporadically. On the bright side, I can retire in 5 years. Once I am free, there will be no more "work stress" hiatuses!

I've also been trying to catch up on anime. I watched The Apothecary Diaries and Link Click recently. Highly recommend both!

Ah, shit. It's been three months since I posted any art. I've been stressed about work and haven't felt like doodling. My free time has been spent playing FFXIV (in preparation for Evercold), Fortnite, and Cyberpunk 2077. TBH, I might not have the creative energy to doodle again for a while. Blegh.

Agreed. There are options to see less AI, but it still gets mixed in. So disappointing. Pinterest was great for character design inspiration and pose references.

Chocolate chip muffins from scratch. Our taste testers said they preferred the "bakery style" recipe we used two weeks ago. He seems a bit concerned for his waistline... #baking

I'm on a brief art hiatus until August. When I am ready to doodle again, I think I'm gonna practice some life drawing and focus less on polished pieces for a little while.

Me earlier this year: I'm gonna work on my perfectionism! Me this month: *CharlieBrownNoises* I think my tolerance for working on a single piece is like 3 days max. After 3 days, I overthink it and my perfectionism kicks in. Then I get frustrated and my art suffers. Rinse & Repeat. #art

This year, I want to focus on character concept drawings and finished pieces of original characters. I may enter an Ensemble Stars art contest this month if I feel confident enough. Now more than ever, we all need distractions.

Did I draw a lot of dumb stuff? Yes. Did I have fun? Also, yes. I think the most valuable lesson I learned was to focus on the overall drawing and don't get too hung up on details. As long as the "message" is clear, that's what matters.

I finished my personal "31 daily doodles" challenge. After barely drawing anything last year, this was a good exercise to get back in the swing of things. Setting a timer really helped my speed and forced me to break away from my rigid perfectionism.
