Ah yes, the age old wisdom that if you make things shit enough, people will pay you more to be less shit. Or, more aligned to reality, people just stop coming and will hate your brand for eternity. Re: GDC Expo passes going from $250 to $1,000.

I was planning on going next year, but I might just skip on the actual show itself if they can't fix this. I don't want to sound like that guy, but I'm too old for this shit.

This is every year. It's quite baffling how a country so renowned for its meticulous planning and disciplined work ethic can not simply organize a swift and smooth registration process. Last time my wife was with me, she's handicapped and can't stand for more than 5 minutes. This was hell for her.

Since it's our little game's birthday, our artists will be doing art drops throughout the month! First up, we have environment artist Lotte, who created everyone's favorite cosmetic superstore, the Tailor shop! Check out the rest of her work on The Knightling here: www.artstation.com/artwork/rlNR9J

Same, but it depends just as much on Gilbert as it does the rich fan of the game. If both have decent business sense and can draw up a legally sane contract, it can work just fine. Hell, if I were rich, this is what I would do with my money 😁

Since I was in the mood for Piano arrangements, time for a second one. Original by Mieko Ishikawa - I assume - since @yuzokoshiro.bsky.social denied writing this 🤣 www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGj1...

I made this piano arrangement decades ago, but the recording was crap. So I wanted to revisit it, but didn't have my source files or midi file anymore, so I just wrote a newer version (because I'm special like that). 🤣 www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6Cl...

After getting back in the Final Fantasy X mood over the weekend, I watched some ending reactions on YT (never watched these before) and I am glad to see I am not the only one that still gets emotional over it. That being said, the Japanese ending is superior and you will never change my mind.

The country is shite, some people in the country are great. If your only decent export is the Premier League, you know you're in trouble 😉

How does a character - and the unapologetic portrayal of that character - make such an impact in only two episodes, I would watch a 3-season spin-off telling her story? Call me Lohar, Dragon Slayer

Also the dress makes more sense now. My shade always gets darker too when I go near the waist.

I will admit, I am very confused by your dress. Is it losing saturation the lower it goes? I generally love warm weather, because I have a pool. and I say generally because the pool is getting a new liner soon and currently houses ~800 tadpoles instead of a cool-down.

I would add that not only are they indoctrinated in male dominated fantasy stories, they also bought into the nonsense that the US economy is not completely rigged against them. "Just work harder" said the rich man. As a European immigrant, the US work ethic vs exploitation is straight up insane.

I have to change my opinion on Brobbey. I always thought he was a no-talent assclown that excelled in not scoring goals. Didn't help that he's an Ajax youth product (our main rival) which I am sure colored my opinion. 😁 Also, what were the Swedes thinking not pressuring De Jong?

One of these details we would never know about. I love to hear about some of the deliberate choices made just for the shot, and just what it took from the actor to be able to do it. Thanks for sharing!

I heard today. So incredibly sad. We weren't friends or anything, but I was happy enough to meet Bobby a couple of times and talk game music. Phenomenal human being. As you say, a loss to the world.

I was very sad today to hear that Robert "Bobby" Prince passed away at 81. Industry legend. Pioneer. Wholesome human. Bobby composed the music for Wolfenstein, Doom, Spear of Destiny, Duke Nukem and many more. My thoughts go out to his wife, Connie, and his two sons. Thanks for everything Bobby😔

For a project I am working on I have been doing a lot of research into native tribes, and it literally brings tears to my eyes how connected to nature and how progressive they were. Before you know..."we" mostly wiped them out because "we're" just assholes like that.

Well I finished the first book. Definitely something I would read more of. I had to get used to the vocabulary a bit, and I didn't expect things to go full supernatural so quick, but overall a very enjoyable read! Gave me more League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vibes than Indiana Jones.

My pictures of dinner in Japan usually involves many different Shabu-Shabu places and nothing else lol. I don't eat any type of seafood so my options are limited. Only other picture I ever made was of this phenomenal desert I had in Tokyo. That was so long ago I don't remember what it was 😁

But Hilary...I've never dropped a bottle of body wash in prison. It has upsides. 😱 Also don't like Old Spice, so I'm with you there. For that reason only I will investigate bar soap that is good for my Psoriasis infused skin. No promises.

if I'm in a campy-but-entertaining mood, I would also count the Asterix & Obelix movies, Barbarella and Danger Diabolik as contenders.

No contest, the Crow. Even though I never read the comic and didn't know it was a comic when I watched the movie. Other option would have been Watchmen, yes I liked the movie a lot, sue me. Also didn't read the comics until after the movie.

I've been in this industry for 30+ years, made deals with the biggest guys, spent hours going over ridiculously overbearing 'legalese', battled with the toughest licensors protecting their IPs, and yet I feel like the way we do business improves the most when I make a deal with small indies.

This might be the worst, most detached from reality, take on anything video game related I have seen since Phil Fish's "Japanese games suck". I rate it only slightly better than Notch's racist and misogynistic comments.
