Ripley celebrated her 2nd birthday yesterday! I am unwell, recovering from an ear infection so I had to postpone her fun day until next week. But she (and her brother) still got their special breakfast of 1/2 kibble + a scrambled egg and a slice of bacon. #corgi #dog #cute #Ripleythecorgi

Got my $5 ($4 after movie club discount) bucket of popcorn at #Cinemark! Glad they provided bag liners, even though I thoroughly washed this new bucket last night.

So I just finished watching #Avatar: the Last Airbender. 5/5 stars. Great pacing, characters, voice acting, and animation. I can see why its stayed popular all this time. I wanted to give the show a shot because of the #UniversesBeyond #MagictheGathering set since I liked a few of the cards.

We had 19mph (30.5 kmh) gusts today and it knocked my tallest tomato plants (Large Red Cherry). I got it back up so I hope it's ok. The stem didn't snap, it bent. Fingers crossed.

One of my favorite things to do in public spaces is going up to people trying to take a group photo and offering to take it for them so they can all look natural with nice framing. Takes <1 minute out of my day and adds a nice positive memory to those people. Worth it.

They need to stop hiring directors for comic book movies that don't have reverence for the source material and what makes it great.

I saw #Obsession. There has to be some couple out there who, for their very first date, went and saw this movie together. And I'm so curious how awkward that car ride home was.

Took me about 10 hours, but I finally went through and cleaned up all my commander decks. Over time I had borrowed cards from some decks to use in another and/or forgot to remove banned cards. But now I have a clean inventory and can order some replacement cards. #MTG #Commander #EDH

On Feb 20, I #pruned down my old #strawberry plants to nubbins. This is about 1.5 months later. (the lower pot is new strawberry plants). #gardening

My #strawberry plants, along with #thyme and #catnip (pollinator) are doing great. I'm allowing fruit to grow now that they are established. #gardening

From Jan 17 to today. I bought a $6 basil plant, teased out some of the individual plants out of the root ball, and planted them in their own containers. 2 months later and after 1 top prune, they are looking great! #basil #gardening

Chris Hughes @mrorthoclase.bsky.social · 18/03/2026

About 2-3 weeks since pruning the main growing stalk of the basil, they are successfully bushing out nicely! Need to find a place for them tho...they can't live here much longer. #gardening #basil

The Habaneros are growing nicely too. They sprouted much earlier (maybe about 1 week). The homemade potting soil must be really good for them! #gardening #peppers

Bare root #Strawberries really took off. Lots of new green growth on all 26 plants in the first 8 days. I have 16 more in 4" pots and I'll probably remove the weaker ones from the bed and replace them.

Planted my bare root #strawberry plants today. I'm in zone 10a and these are #Eversweet plants, an everbearing variety of strawberry. A little early, maybe. But we are already getting mostly sunny, mid 60's F highs for the foreseeable future with about 10h sunlight days.

#Amazon shipped this to me as New (yes, it was shipped and sold by Amazon). The greenworks packaging was damaged and taped up. The outer Amazon box was fine. They literally thought this was an acceptable condition to send to a customer...

Ripley had her spay on Thursday and it was a rough first 3 days. But on day 4, she was up and walking around again, eating her meals, and going potty regularly again. Proud of my little gremlin for pulling through the pain of it all. #corgi #puppy #dog

Ripley had an accident while playing with her brother on Friday. Poor girl hurt her leg and sprained it. She's upset now that she's forced to be cooped up in the house. She's walking around just fine now, but under some meds to keep calm while the leg recovers. #puppy #corgi #dog #Ripleythedog

I've noticed a large uptick in #LPN (i.e. returned and presumed ok to sell) items from #Amazon. One was used and tampered and reglued. Why are we paying NEW prices for potentially used items? Yeah, I can just reorder it, but now I have to take time out of my day to go to a UPS store to return.

Yeah, I think that's enough #MTGArena for today. Not fun facing #Kotis three times in a row. If I didn't forget that autotapper doesn't account for what you might draw, would have been three victories in a row too.
