I know they do here. We are a village of 7000, our own station, links Zwolle to Enschede, 2 of the larger cities in the Netherlands. It costs me about €3 to get to Zwolle. However I have an old gits card so it costs me 40% less everywhere. Parking is free, there is a huge bike park, totally safe

Jaaaa, dodgy knee or no dodgy knee, I've been on the fiets today for the first time in a month. Easier than walking, far easier than stepping out of the auto and putting weight on it because it already has movement so the pain is mitigated. Got up to 28 k/hr so well happy.

Before talk of taxes, defense spending etc etc, there should be no food banks in Europe. Anywhere in Europe. Nobody should need to rely on a food bank to live. The rich have got rich on the labours of the poor and forced the very poorest to the bottom. They must be forced to pay. Not the state.

I lived in North Sheffield so it was a Barnsley or harder dialect than south of the city where it was almost a Notts dialect. 26 miles apart and me and my mate might as well have been Dutch and German the difference was so extreme.

It is law here in the Netherlands to move to one side or the other to create a free passage for emergency vehicles to get through, but we do it anyway, it's common sense. Why stop an emergency vehicle getting through, maybe to put a fire out at your house where your own kids might be in danger!

If you notice, the pedestrians are totally aware of the fietsers, without them needing to ring their bells. We all ride bikes, it's like having a 6th sense that a bike is coming and to let it by without causing any change of direction.
