Personally I'm in favor of converting the ballroom into a horse stable for after the Great Khan of the Midwest restores glory to the Eagle Throne. That or yeah, tear it down and rebuild the East Wing. Probably the second option there.

Got my film rolls back from shots I've been taking over the last couple of months. First three are Ilford HP5 400, the fourth is 400TX. I like the grain, it feels super crunchy, like its a photo you can find in a horror game. New-to-me SR-T 101, definitely had a learning curve.

I check local groups online, check local news, talk to organizers, and collect literature from people protesting at larger events (there's always a few people). As for organizing, i am not an organizer in any way, shape, or form, so I cannot help you there. I barely know what day it is most days.

Took the new tripod out to test, most of the shots are just testing to get the right level on uneven ground, but this one came out a lot better than I expected. It's nice out but not quite spring yet.

2/2 Turnout wasn't typical of a protest here in town, at least to the ones I've been to, but the 419 definitely has some of the most dedicated and passionate people around.

Went to a local state park with a new (to me) M43 OM-D, there were people there but with no wind and the lake frozen over it was eerily quiet. Could hear people 50 yards out having a normal conversation. Ended up leaving after about 30 min and a short walk cause some rain was coming in.

Yeah I signed up with TEST after they had just moved to Wicked Creek to rebuild and fight Russian dudes over some planets, this must have been over 10 years ago at this point. Couple months later I was back in college and on the way to graduation, never looked back.

EVE Online player corps have either better opsec than most state security or defense bureaus, or its "here are our exact battle plans, we will steamroll you anyway", and there is no in between. There's also some "We don't know what we're doing until we do it" sprinkled in. I flew with those guys.

There's an argument that I've seen that this is part of what is causing a resurgence in film photography, because while a digital photo and video can be faked, with film there are always the negatives. A major downside is that with film there's processing time, and genAI can be done in minutes.

Yeah the marketing was near non-existent. I've been following it since Part 1, and I'm a fan of the series overall. Definitely worth catching at some point. And thank you! Thankfully the protest was unimpeded, everyone was kind and the mood was very high, especially with the poor weather.

Was it cold? Sure was. Event organizers had hand-warmers and there was a spot nearby for people to warmup, the majority of people were parked nearby. Everyone there, as always, was kind, friendly & in high spirits. And I got to talk film briefly with someone from the Toledo Blade which was cool.
