Caper caper berries? Interesting and will look into that. We use capers in various recipes and I have seen cocktail recipes involving capers but never seed pods.

... It has more body a bit of bitterness compared to the Martini and would go good alone on ice.

Also the Cinzano Vermouth I used was the first time I've ever bought it. I usually end up with Martini & Rossi sweet Vermouth for my Manhattans because I buy so much of my liquor at my local Walmart and it's all they have if they even have it. Have you ever used it?...

I use regular Anagostura and their Orange too. I haven't made a Vesper Martini in a long time. One thing I do as a result of a Vesper recipe I once used is I almost always use a dry white wine instead of Vermouth in my Martinis.

I could go either way really. The Peychaud's are fruitier and to me add a bit of sweetness and the Anagostura are straight bitters that dial back a bit of the drink's sweetness. What about you?

For me I think that's just part of being a sf/fantasy reader, TTRPG playing gamer, PC gamer, and science buff/scientific skeptic. Goes with the territory.

Here's my Manhattan tonight: Sazerac Rye, Cinzano Vermouth, and with bitters both Peychaud and Angostura--not in the same glass but just bought Paychaud's so experimenting in different glasses.

I picked that comic up at my local used book store back in the early 70s. In the aughts I sold it on eBay, I think for around $150. It wasn't graded and was an ok but well-read copy.

I love playing video games and when I play say BG3 or Resident Evil Requiem (playing now), I basically know what I'm going to get. But the most fun is often the ones I didn't know, like: Dave the Diver, Dungeons of Hinterberg, Promise Mascot Agency, Esoteric Ebb, etc. Surprise me, please.
