I thought that Direct was great. Ravenous is all I needed, but new 3D Kirby is cool, that Onyx game looked interesting, and the updates on Professor Layton & Yo-Kai Watch were welcome. Good Direct, way better than that last one.

I like that Samus is talking more in Ravenous. Seems like after Other M they nearly muted her. She only spoke once in Dread. I hope they realized that people don't hate Samus speaking. They just didn't like her characterization in Other M. She spoke plenty in Fusion, and that was great.

Nintendo did actually print the hell out of those though, so later on it was easy to get one. But I hope I can get one at launch.

I really hope I can pre order a Metroid Ravenous Special Edition before they sell out. Dread's special edition was bought up by scalpers using bots, which made getting it impossible unless you paid inflated prices on eBay

This one looks like a more "open" 3D game compared to Forgotten Land. More similar to Bowser's Fury than 3D World. Very nice.

Age of Calamity on Switch 1 was the first time I ever noticed a game's frame rate. It felt like it started the trend of Switch games running poorly. So it getting a Switch 2 upgrade is very nice.

I love Professor Layton on the DS, but a part of that is due to how comfy VNs are on the DS. Idk how much I'll enjoy it on a single screen. Also, I've heard people saying Level 5 is using generative AI for this game. If that's true, that's very disappointing.

Can someone explain exactly what this is? Yo-Kai Watch 2 already exists, it's on my shelf right now. Is this some kind of definitive edition, even though Psychic Specters already exists?

This looks like the kind of quirky, unique game that utilizes the system's features really well. Like Trace Memory on the DS. Will definitely check this out.

Mouse controls for TWEWY might make that game not suck ass while docked (love the original, just hate the port's controls) And a Mario Maker 2 update is the most needed, especially since it's exempt from boost mode for some baffling reason, despite docked play working fine.

Astral Chain, NEO TWEWY, TTYD, and Legends Arceus could all use 60fps. Especially TTYD, since the GameCube original actually did run at 60fps. After playing Z-A Switch 2 Edition, it's hard going back to Legends Arceus's performance and visuals.

Luigi's Mansion 3, Metroid Dread, Prime Remastered all look good, but could look a lot better at higher resolutions. Dread and Prime don't reach 1080p in docked so they're slightly blurry on the Switch 2's screen, even in boost mode.

I also grew up on Nintendo games, but I also grew up watching VanossGaming who made many YouTube videos on it. From what I can tell, it's an open world sandbox game where you can do whatever you want. I've never played it, but I see the appeal.

I do think the episodic format has hurt the game. In your case, it seems like the long wait times makes it hard to follow the story. If you're still interested in giving it a shot, I recommend giving it another chance once Chapter 7 has released.

As for living up to Undertale, Toby Fox has said he's not sure Deltarune will give people the same feeling they got from Undertale (Source: his 2018 twitlonger after Ch1's release). So liking Undertale but not Deltarune is perfectly reasonable

Fwiw Ch3 is definitely the weakest part of the game. That chapter had a troubled production, its structure was reworked several times, and that's really felt in the chapter's pacing. Ch4 is way better, arguably the best part of the game. But if you didn't like Ch1&2 it may just not be for you.

You gotta keep trying. Don't give up or else that weight you mentioned will consume you. Just keep putting yourself out there, even if it's just baby steps each day. As long as you're working towards your goal you'll make it someday.
