Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 08/06/2026Excited to have provided multiple voices for this! "Whose???!!!" I hear you ask...to be revealed...ere long! 🤓 040
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 20/05/2026My pleasure. I'm glad you found it interesting 🧛♀️😎 040
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 16/05/2026... If our work (a very small part of the whole shebang that goes to make up the creation of these wonderful games - that appear to me to be like blockbuster films) gives you pleasure, then that makes me very happy 😎 160
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 16/05/2026How nice! As you will have gathered, my not being a gamer, this is a new world to me. I'm beginning to realise how important these games and characters are to the dedicated fans, so I'm learning a lot, thank you... 160

Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 16/05/2026Aww! Thank you. He popped up randomly at the end of a recording session. They asked me if I'd just record a few lines as this sort of RAF-type pigeon - not MOCAP - (which, after standing of hours in odd positions in a very unbecoming tight body suit, was a very welcome relief!). He was great fun! 040
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026I think you might be right. That's the only time we met - but it was wonderful to meet my creator! I had Simon jiggling around in my mind - but I think you're probably correct. I free rather ashamed not to be able to recall; don't get old! 🤣 140
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Cazador, Astarion - and the lovely chap who created and wrote Cazador - (whose name stubbornly won't come to my ancient vampire mind presently) at the Larian Baldur's Gate wrap party way back in 2023. Might amuse you all! 1154
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026👍it's intriguing to learn there's such a community! Nice to know. 040
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Absolutely not! I don't play video games - I don't actually know how (I'm old!) so I've only seen clips on YouTube! I'm as intrigued as they are with regard to his backstory. 120
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Oh dear! In my case, definitely "the singer, not the song" - best to remain firmly"draped" as they say! 060
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026In that, Cazador and I share a great deal! 🤣⚰️ 160
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Ha! Someone else suggested that to me - but I had no idea what it was. I think you need to be someone famous for that don't you? How embarrassing it would be if one opened an account and no-one asked for anything! Maybe I should open an OnlyFans account! Cazador on a bearskin rug?! 🤣 Perhaps not... 8141
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Not as such! I don't think anyone knows who I am; (I sometimes wonder myself!) 150
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026...all in all I had a ball - and I'm rather proud of him! Incidentally, it wasn't until long into the recording sessions that Beldron suddenly (to me) acquired a husband! The wonders of video game production! Occasionally a few characters pop up that I had no memory of recording at all! 🤓 2130
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026... I do hope you and the game fans enjoy what we did - and apologies to any who felt a bit short changed when Cazador (finally) was revealed. I might have approached him a bit differently if I'd known his back story - but I was as honest as I could be with the scenes I was given... 2130
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026... and these were recorded, in my case, on and off over about three years! It wasn't until the launch party that I met any of the other voice artists - apart from Neil of course... 1110
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026... And this is all I guess stitched together with the animations etc into the final game. It's a very enjoyable job and I had a ball voicing all those wonderful characters. I had no idea how significant Cazador (I didn't even know his name until well into the sessions... 1110
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026...you record random scenes that often don't appear to the actor to have any connection - and sometimes they don't! The directors (there are quite a few) are given guidance on the scenes that are to be recorded in the session, the movement director advises us so that how we move guides the animators 1110
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026...I wasn't shown any character drawings so "ancient vampire" he was, which accounts for his reedy voice that many fans don't care for! I had no idea he'd end up looking like a man in his thirties! I was rather shocked. In the recording sessions one works alone - not with other actors... 1110
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026...a propos of Cazador, I never knew of his back story at all - or, indeed, if he ever had one! As I have said, I was asked to record some lines as "an ancient vampire" during my first session. It was ages before I was asked to carry on with the character... 1110
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026... I'm sad in a way, because I get the impression that many of them imagine we, the actors, know the story we are helping to tell in advance - and, perhaps more importantly, the BACK story! This couldn't (in my experience) be further from the truth! 1100
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026It's rather an odd process! I'm just an actor, not a video gamer, and know nothing of its charms, so a lot of this is new to me. Seeing what the fans think and feel and how much they invest in the games has been a fascinating education... 1110
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026As to the latter - probably not! Cazador is more Pinkie than Kolley Kibber! (I was rather fond of dear old Roger Highberry!) 120
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026See my reply in this thread - in reality Neil and I never met until Cazador's final two sessions which he directed. I'd been voicing him for a number of years prior, so his voice and style were already established. I was asked to read the first lines I received as "an ancient vampire"! That's it! 040
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026The happy occurrence of Neil directing the Astarion / Cazador fight was, I believe a very joyous "happistance". We had a hoot working together and we both agreed how wonderful it was to finally meet! Generally, VOs work alone with the director(s), movement director and recording engineer. 1131
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Of course I had already created the voice by then a couple of years earlier. I hope he doesn't disappoint too many - I rather love him! 5160
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Just "an ancient vampire". That's how his voice was created. At that time we weren't even told the name of the game. It's a rather crazy business. A very long time, and a number of other characters later, Cazador resurfaced (still no name and no visual image) and his part in the story unfolded... 1120
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026The only vocal direction I received was from a director on my very first session voicing Beldron. As what seemed to me to be an afterthought I was asked to read some lines for "an ancient vampire" - that's all I knew; no image of the character, no knowledge of his story line, nothing... 1140
Graham Hoadly 🇪🇺 @mrhoadly.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Not quite true, I'm afraid! I only met the lovely Neil at my final two sessions when he directed the Cazador demise scenes. Neither of us had met each other up until then - I'd been doing Cazador sessions for about three years up until then (amongst the other characters)... 2160
