As far as religious kooks go, I can’t lie, he’s one of my favorites

-felt like magic.” I think he was a very spiritual person and went looking for something to fill a gap in his life. Sometimes it’s a bit silly though. He was angry at DC for ignoring global warming, but his solution to save the environment… was Transcendental Meditation. Lmao

But it’s kind of charming. I mean, I’m a believer in meditation too, I definitely think he got a lot out of it, but… there’s a part of Lynch’s autobiography where he talks about how he got into meditation and then TM, and it was like “too many people explained meditation with science, and to me it-

I’ve seen people struggle to understand David Lynch politically and like understand how he could’ve voted for Reagan and Bernie Sanders but I think it’s much simpler to just think his beliefs probably changed a lot in the, like, forty years between those two elections

I really love Conqueror of Shamballa. I’m genuinely so happy and so impressed that it exists. It’s a very complicated and bittersweet and strange ending for a boys adventure series, but I love it for the historic context and challenging ideas it brings to the table. It has my whole heart ❤️

It’s amazing to play classic Sims again but these games are crashing constantly and it’s killing the flow :/ I wonder if they run ok on steam deck?

A customer just told me “wow, you guys have kind of a filthy banyard thing going on with your food, huh? Somebody here should actually try the shit you sell, make sure it’s safe to eat 😁"

But to me it’s more than enough to just be entertained at the Ryokan and take walks through beautiful scenery and relax in the bath and just kind of meditate and exist in someplace so lovely and tranquil

I think it’s more just like… okay to be honest I don’t really talk to the friend who said all that anymore, but he was from Kyoto and was a bit stuck up and was very much of the opinion that it wouldn’t be fun because there “was nothing to do” (i.e. spend money)

100

Mr. Dent @mrdent.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

I knew it too!! Like deep down, obviously, I would want to stay there for longer! But I kept getting told it’s boring because it’s out in the country, and I’m blinded by my otaku-goggles, and I won’t like it as much irl… I should’ve listened to my gut, because I knew better!

110

Mr. Dent @mrdent.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

You could spend a week up there. Do not risk it, spend as much time as you feel like you might want.

040

Mr. Dent @mrdent.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

But I should’ve stayed much longer. I had so little rest that trip and I felt so wiped out and physically exhausted. I could barely walk, I missed breakfast, and I had to pack up and check out within an hour, and I just couldn’t take it.

150

Mr. Dent @mrdent.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

For the record it’s not like I was just sad to leave, but rather I exhausted and overexerted myself… and then, I visit this wonderful, relaxing place, and I only book two nights there. All my Japanese friends kept saying I’d be bored and I shouldn’t stay too long…

This is too vulnerable for me to post on X The Everything App but I had a panic attack when I left Shirakawa-Go. If you ever go, do yourself a favor and give yourself plenty of time there. I had overbooked my trip in general, and it was so nice I genuinely wasn’t ready to leave when the time came.

I don’t know what editions are available globally versus domestically in the US, but there is an edition that contains both the movie and S3. It’s called Twin Peaks: Z to A. But, it’s still preorder only I think

I noticed but like… I think it’s only because I’m *me*. It sort of just very quietly and suddenly disappeared from HIDIVE and storefronts. I remember noticing because Rightstuf suddenly had like less merchandise available under Higurashi, and had to check other sites to verify

I’m sore, everything hurts, I’m so tired, and I don’t have health insurance (yet). I thought becoming a student would help on the health care front but I can’t apply until next semester, it seems…

I had the flu last week… I returned to work and school as soon as I was no longer contagious, but I think I should have spent a few more days in recovery. I feel like my health wound up getting way worse and I have been exhausted the past few days. I think I have to return tomorrow though…

It has a wonderful ending with Lupin playing Santa and giving out presents to the children of America so it was actually full of holiday spirit.

Mr. Dent @mrdent.bsky.social · 25/12/2024

It also might be the only Christmas special with a hurling montage. But I only took screenshots of Lupin’s because his face was the funniest.

Luckily the ending of the episode actually feels SUPER christmassy, I loved it

100

Mr. Dent @mrdent.bsky.social · 25/12/2024

Aside from a little bit of Jesus talk from Zenigata at the start, this episode felt a lot more like “the France episode” than “the Christmas episode.” I was starting to worry I misremembered how Christmassy this episode was.

Almost two hundred hours later, and I have completely finished Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. All endings, all Miman, Demon Compenmdium filled, superbosses slain, Virtual Training missions fulfilled, and Godborn mode wrapped up and topped off. Definitely my favorite game this year 😄

Oni is also a really unique Higurashi story. There’s nothing else like it.

If people were able to approach these series without preconceived assumptions, they’d see Meguri isn’t just a “patch” or a “fix” for Sotsu, it’s an altogether different story built on different ideas. Rei is a very thoughtful update to the setting and it’s characters are thoughtfully considered.
