Managing GitHub Action matrices is great until you have to update required status checks for every new version. I solved this with a 10-line "all-checks-passed" job that dynamically validates the matrix. No more manual updates! mrbusche.com/2026/02/27/g...

From the always insightful @lateroundqb.bsky.social newsletter Alvin Kamara RB1 SZN (again)
THE ALVIN KAMARA FLOOR
Even JJ admits he's "always shocked when Kamara's projections come out the way they do." The numbers are wild: Kamara has never had a target share per game rate below 17.9% in any NFL season.

JJ dug into the data and found that, since 2011, running backs with 18%+ target shares have finished outside RB1 territory just three times. And all three failed to hit an easy-to-achieve 25% rush share.

Logging in to Century Link and downloading my bill literally takes 5 minutes (????). Hopefully someone notices my UTM parameters and is the change I need to save 5 minutes to get my internet reimbursed each month.

Here are a couple great quotes from "An Elegant Puzzle"
Shifting scope works better than moving people because it avoids re-gelling costs and it preserves system behavior. Preserving Behavior keeps your existing mental model intact, and if it doesn't work out, you can always revert a workload change with less disruption than would be caused by a stagging change. The other approach that I've seen work well is to rotate individuals for a fixed period into an area that needs help. The fixed duration allows them to retain their identity and membership in their current team, giving their full focus to helping out, rather than splitting their focus between performing work and fining membership in the new team.

The games push from Netflix is getting real frustrating. The website has been defaulting to games for the past few weeks and now it's happening on TV too. When I have 30 minutes to chill, I just want to spend those 30 minutes debating what show to watch and then go to bed without watching anything.

Am I the only person who noticed the Goodreads rating for Wind and Truth?

I wasn't sure how the talk would be received since I didn't try to present myself as an "expert." But the feedback I received this week was truly humbling and reminded me why this profession is so cool. A sincere thank you to everyone who attended and especially those who left feedback. (2/2)
