Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 24/03/2025Extraordinary real life character observation just now in St John’s Wood. Man, late 70s, immaculately dressed. Speaking on phone: ‘Where are you Sir? I can’t see you Sir. I’m on the corner Sir. Can you see me Sir? (Now bouncing in agitation) I can’t FACKING see you Sir!’ 000

Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 02/03/2025Anyone here more familiar with Beth Steel’s body of work than me who can point me towards a monologue suitable for a 45-55 year old male? Ideally 2 mins in length 🙏🏼 100
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 21/02/2025I wrote something about my journey from a Leicester council estate into the performing arts on my website. Looking back I’m not quite sure how I managed it. Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 06/02/2025I performed a monologue from this in class at The City Lit in the late 90s. The teacher invited his mate to watch and give feedback who was none other than Ian Holm, the original Lenny! 110

Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 06/02/2025I think Rami Malek really did not deserve the booting he got in The Times and Telegraph culture sections. It’s almost like the critics got off on it. It became more about them. I thought Oedipus at The Old Vic was genuinely FANTASTIC. A shame some may be put off going and miss out. 020
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 01/02/2025One of the mini highlights of my performing career was getting to share a dressing room with Saracen and Hunter and doing a ‘most muscular’ pose off with them!Thankfully in the days before camera phones existed. You’d have had them on height. 000
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 01/02/2025#Oedipus at the @oldvictheatre.bsky.social is incredible. Visceral, democratised theatre at its finest. Acting, dance, lighting, sound & use of set all packing equally powerful punches. It’s a must see event. Go! 000
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 26/01/2025My partner has an American mother. She’s like a hound who sniffs out poor US accents on stage. Even from top actors. It’s crushing for me when I have a go! 🤣 010

Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 31/12/2024Congratulations to the magnificent Anne-Marie Duff who has been made on OBE for her services to drama. I believe she spent some of her time as a student at Drama Centre being told she wouldn’t amount to much beyond some character parts. Her brilliance has proved them wrong! 000
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 30/12/2024Being grateful for being here is such an easy one to take for granted! 010
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 30/12/20244) All to say, to anyone who wants to hear it - this is a long game and resilience is very important. So is skilful action. Taking time out was the best thing I could have done. It just didn’t feel that way at the time. It’s certainly feels amazing to be back doing it! ✨ 110
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 30/12/20243) This year I have been lucky enough to audition for The National Theatre and land a small role in a feature film directed by one of my favourite British film directors. 100
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 30/12/20242) Things just got too precarious and I had to do other, unrelated, things for nearly 14 years when I finally became more materially stable. I never gave up hope or lost the belief I could return one day and do quality work at the highest level. 100
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 30/12/20241) Back in 2006 I was forced to ‘retire’ from the performing arts because, despite a successful earlier career, I was over £30k in debt with no bank of mum and dad to help bail me out. 100

Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 02/12/2024In any case I think it was pipped by ‘Giant’. It really is what theatre should be about in terms of its forensic intelligence and timeliness. I also loved ‘Bluets’ as a piece of theatre based on the creativity of the production and how ‘European’ it felt. Refreshing to see on a British stage. 010
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 02/12/2024I would have said ‘The Fear of 13’ as it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen & it still IS but I’ve down voted it in my all time list because I’ve since discovered a great deal of the dialogue is lifted verbatim out of the documentary of the same name. This isn’t mentioned anywhere I’ve read. 110
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 02/12/2024Just seen #Conclave. So many brilliant performances. Ralph Fiennes is sensational, but my goodness so is Lucian Msamati. No spoilers, but WHAT a scene between the pair of them! 010

Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 24/11/2024We need more empathy. Disabled people are not ‘other’. The majority of able bodied people, should they live long enough shift into becoming disabled. Everyone should care about this. 000
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 20/11/2024Good morning Blue Skyers! A London skyline for you shot from a window in my old place. I miss that view. 020
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 19/11/2024It’s so easy for the mind to take the lack of opportunities personally. I met an actor friend recently who said ‘24 was easily their worst year. This is an actor who’s been in lead roles and played at all our top theatres. A solid pro with a long cv. That gave me a new perspective. 010
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 19/11/2024Great that you’ve been up for stuff Andrew! Successes will return. 100
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 18/11/2024I want to credit the focus puller too on extraordinary work. I saw their name on the credits but can’t find it on IMDB. All this before mentioning the powerful subject matter and the wonderful storytelling from Claire Keegan and screenplay from Enda Walsh. It’s amazing work all round. 000
Adam Frith @mradamfrith.bsky.social · 18/11/2024What a film SMALL THINGS LIKE THESE is. Beautifully understated performances from the entire cast under the direction of Tim Mielants. The cinematography from Frank van den Eeden is out of this world. Go see! 131
