A week in DC for back to back national meetings/conferences. It's never been more important to recharge and strategize with peers from across the US regarding HIV Care and Prevention. 🤓

Happy Record Store Day to those who celebrate! Once again Agharta made RSD early and easy. I was fairly restrained. And had to add on a Prince bootleg for fun 🤓💜😎

Good times at the Dakota last night. John Grant was lovely, per usual.

The Return of Jezebel James should have been everything with this duo. But sadly it was almost nothing. 🤣

Of the many songs in the encore sets, my favorite trio were: New Test Leper followed by Bandwagon followed by World Leader Pretend. Each song is amazing on its own and they fit so well together for this moment in time. 💜🤓

Michael Shannon and @jasonnarducy.bsky.social brought their @remhq.bsky.social tour back to First Ave last night. This time around is was Fables of the Reconstruction in full followed by oodles of random selections spanning the full REM catalog. Fantastic show. Once again! 😎🎵💜🎵😎

This is ridiculous planning. I will add public comment as a resident who drives this path and am also opposed.

Belong or Low. I can't pick. 🩷

Darin Rowles @mplsd74.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

I have to admit that I never gave this album much time. But in January I went through weeks of listening to only REM including this album and was surprised by how much it grabbed me, finally. 🤓😊

I just got back from it. And 1000 percent agree with this review. I'm glad I checked it out on the big screen.

You've pictured many of mine. Some Kind of Wonderful is my fave of the John Hughes collection. I will add St Elmo's Fire, Goonies and Howard the Duck to the list. No really. I loved the Leah Thompson songs in Howard! Oh and Satisfaction. That wonderfully bad movie with Justine Batemen. :)

Also, when I purchased the full length, I had forgotten that I already had the 12 inch for Let's Go All The Way in my collection. So much Sly Fox! 🤣

Recent find in the used bins at Electric Fetus. I don't know if I've ever listened to this full album before. Should be a great 80s throwback lol. 🎶🪩🎶

Side note, lovers of 80s pop, if you haven't checked her out, you should. One song in particular sounds like it could be a Roadhouse Garden/Wendy and Lisa outtake, perfection. 💜
