Seems to work fine on Windows, at least.
A fine art piece imported into SCRNAn artless scribble in SCRN, saved and imported into the BASin emulator.

Finally completed a no-death, no-rewind Free Solo run on #Cairn. I don't play a lot of new games ( other than Speccy ones, obv. ) but this really hooked me.

10/10 headline in my news feed today.
A headline from ScienceDaily, suggesting that a 'massuve asteroid hit the North Sea and triggered a 330-foot tsunami'.

While technically correct, the headline does not clarify that the event happened about 45 million years ago.

Played some hours with the excellent and incredibly tense rock-climbing game Cairn yesterday, and woke up with sore fingers from gripping the controller to hard. Immersion! store.steampowered.com/app/1588550/...

Thought I'd check the Steam sale to check out whether video games these days are still utterly bonkers. Yes. Yes they are.
An lady brandishing a crossbow, riding into battle balanced precariously atop a giant armoured swan. It's the most noble thing you've ever seen, somehow.

Someone at the Post Office is going to be getting an unwelcome visit.
A 2000ad comic, which has been rudely ripped in the mail. Ironically, the cover features Judge Dredd, saying "Break it and I'll find you, Creeps!".
Attaboy, Joe.

And after all several rounds of voting, we have a tie for the top spot : Donkey Kong, an excellent port of the arcade classic and Aliens : Neoplasma II, a very impressive Metroidvania game, dripping with atmosphere.
Loading Screen from Donkey Kong on the ZX Spectrum. A framed image of a cartoon ape holding aloft the supine form of a young lady as he runs happily up some scaffolding. A plumber pursues, hampered by flying barrels. It's Donkey Kong, you know the drill. Our heroine aims a space rifle at a robot in the foreground of this ZX Spectrum loading screen, as in the background we see the silhouette of a H.R. Giger Alien warrior crouched to pounce. Gameplay from Donkey Kong on the ZX Spectrum. Kong and his captive are at the top of the screen, as our hero leaps gracefully over a barrel. Lots of clever planning in evidence from the developers to avoid colour clash issues.Gameplay image from Aliens : Neoplasma II pn the Spectrum. It's a side view of an dingy spacecraft interior. You could probably call it a Metroidvania game. Our heroine seems to have run out of ammo and grenades. This could prove problematic.

3rd place goes to : Hafoc Tor This is a sequel to last year's second-place title Wychweald. Top quality turn-based RPG action in a Bard's Tale style. An under-represented genre on the Speccy.
An atmospheric loading screen from the ZX Spectrum game Hafoc Tor. Two adversaries - one wielding a blade - face off on a lonely moonlit moor. Distant lights from a settlement lie at the foot of a prominent Tor.
Gameplay image from Hafac Tor on the ZX Spectrum. It's a Bard's Tale - style RPG with an array of informational windows. The scene depicts a campfire in the wilderness where our party may choose to rest. They're looking pretty healthy though, so might elect to keep moving.

4th : El Bigotudo Graphically lush arcade adventure featuring a fragile tough guy. Nippy controls, challenging environments. Excellent presentation all round.
Colourful loading screen on the ZX Spectrum, showing a cartoon-style image of our burly mustachioed hero fleeing from an alien fish-man thing. Gameplay image from El Bigotudo on the ZX Spectrum. It's a side view of a 2-level spaceship interior. Our hero stands in a safe spot in the top right corner, perhaps pondering his next move as dangerous aliens patrol the corridors.

Voting has concluded in the SpectrumComputing.co.uk Game of the Year 2024 vote. We had a remarkable 164 eligible Spectrum 48/128k games in scope. The final results are as follows. 5th : Scramble RX An impeccable port of the 1981 arcade classic. Better late than never. #speccy #zxspectrum
Superb loading screen for Scramble RX on the ZX Spectrum featuring stylish spacecraft speeding towards a futuristic city, mimicking the style of the original arcade cabinet. Gameplay of Scramble RX on the ZX Spectrum, as the player ship speeds above a row of fuel tanks and rockets, blasting fire at the enemy alien craft. Eat plutonium death, you disgusting alien weirdos!

Worth noting bean-man's manifesto.
Portrait of election candidate in disturbing baked-bean-dominated breakfast mask, promising an enforced 11am Brunch Hour for all workplaces, where Brunch will be served, bringing an end to the 'era of soggy sandwiches'.
