Please share, to the “why she say anything sooner crowd.” Many women don’t come forward because they think the men who r-ped them will also unalive them. It’s why so many women continue talking to,working with, and even continue dating men that harmed them- because staying alive is the goal.

Her supporters and his supporters are often the same group. You can find a lot of crossover when you search their names together. They have similar donors, and endorsements. Lie with dogs and get fleas- ya know? I still even said she’s (hopefully) not as bad.

He also didnt do the level of harm Platner does and did. Not even close. So much so that it feels wrong to put them in the same sentence. He didn’t run for a national seat as a redemption arc. He did decades of work before hand. He also doesn’t have a Nazi tattoo or numerous other red flags

He did apologize. He apologized publicly and before anyone knew about this-to the woman personally. She wrote that in her substack. He also ended the relationship before it went further, citing it was wrong. He did what we want men to do after they harm women.

Society at many levels forces nearly everyone into marriage- and no polyamory isn’t a solution as it’s less accepted that regular infidelity. We cannot use something unnatural, mostly forced, with financial, and legal benefits, as a measurement for morality. That’s my point.

I think infidelity isn’t uncommon and never has been. I’ll see it as a moral wrong when western society stops forcing monogamous marriage as the default setting not matter what. Sexual hierarchies and not being married or never married by X age- has real implications for finances and careers.
