Yes, totally correct. The murky part is a lot of them are ex-military with no "police" training so when they perform "traffic stops" they're operating outside their scope/training.

I think ICE is pretty much hiring anyone at this point. And to your point, yes, cops, fire fighters and EMS all probably have higher rates of PTSD because they experience 10, 15, 30 yrs of going on call after call. I did for EMS for 20 yrs, I know.

I never made any excuses for any of them. We all react to mental illness and PTSD differently. My original point was that yes, we have very damaged and rageful men in ICE who are now being given a green light by the White House to pick fights with civilians.

Oh absolutely not. I'm not here to argue with anyone. I have PTSD myself after being a paramedic for almost 20 years and it's definitely changed me. I had to do a lot of work on my own just to recognize it, let alone treat. I refuse to become like maga and assign hate to people no matter what.

Because a lot of them seem to be ex-military, ex-police...etc. not to mention that most of the men attracted to this type of work probably have PTSD from childhood. This is all learned behavior from parents, environment...etc. I'm sorry but they were made this way, they weren't born this way.

Again, absolutely right. PTSD is a tricky one, I was a Paramedic for 20 years and it really affects people differently. I am not giving these guys any grace, they're all pigs but most of them probably don't know or wouldn't acknowledge they have it. They view it as a weakness so it goes untreated.
