Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 31/07/2026I reckon whole thing would be easier to find someone to buy it. 000
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 31/07/2026Imagine buy 1/3 just to get a board seat while you watch Singtel continue to mismanage it? I'd want 51% or all of it. 110
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Yes - never quite sure how to describe it. 000

Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 29/07/2026My wife's previous job had on Fridays "Chip o'clock" - instead of alcohol based socialising people would bring in different chips to try. As a regular traveller I was tasked with acquiring a range of chips from different countries. It was kinda sweet and inclusive. 100
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Look at the current just under construction. No issues with what's just being built. But we need people to built the generation. Hence why I don't believe new chemistry is very needle moving in terms of capital flow. (To be clear - that doesn't mean it's not exciting for other reasons). 000
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Capital for batteries isn't the issue right now thought - it's building generation. Notice that so many of the wind projects that won CIS grants/backing haven't reached financial close. That's the big problem. Money is already pouring in for batteries but something has to fill them. 200
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 19/07/2026I'm not as convinced. Issue for superannuation is, as I understand it, liquidity requirements which mean they mostly do shares and not infra. Batteries can already get performance guarantees for 20years. The shift from 20 to 30 years makes little difference with NPV anyway. 110
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 06/04/2026Genuinely terrified by what I might wake up to each morning now. 171
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 06/04/2026Imagine being able to just publish bad takes like this. That's real luxury. 110
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 03/04/2026Curious if you're going to explore the various battery pack options? Or keep as is? I miss our 2016 Leaf we owned in the USA. Such a lovely car. 040
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 22/03/2026As if switching a thermostat to Fahrenheit suddenly makes it able to manage optimising to a target temperature better. If you want your house to be 21C or 70F the aircon or heating system isn't actually going to get it within a fraction of a degree of any kind anyway. 111

Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 29/11/2025Wild. What's the point of collecting data if there's no theory, no analysis? How do you know what to collect if there's no context or theory behind it? 130
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 23/11/2025My M-i-L is a GP. She has amazingly neat handwriting. She even did the calligraphy for the name cards at our wedding. In the times of handwritten scripts - my wife had a script rejected for clearly being not from an actual doctor. 140

Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 12/10/2025The ARM based machines are just next level. The 3 year old M2 Air I'm writing this on still feels stupid fast for what I need. 030
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 12/10/2025It's absolutely awesome. I've also done some work using Home Assistant to calculate CO2eq emissions from my grid imports so I can calculate my per kWh emissions. In the last 12 months I'm at about 57gCO2eq/kWh which is pretty good. (In SA, so grid is pretty clean, but still 1/3 grid). 110

Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 27/07/2025It's kind of wild to think that Labor are the new conservatives - they're desperately trying to ensure nothing really changes. No changes to digging up fossil fuels, no change to helping the poor, no change to condemning evil. All about the status quo. 1105
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 20/06/2025The Broken Hill example is so frustrating - all the components were there but no one built the "system" to use them. 000
Matthew Moyle-Croft @moylecroft.bsky.social · 20/06/2025Also makes the towns more resilient to other risks. There are places where they'll shutdown transmission during days of very high fire risk (usually middle of summer) so regional towns where this happens would still be able to operate. 110
