It's #Brewers game day! Found these photos from Game 2 of 2011 NLDS vs the Diamondbacks. Not sure if I have any moots who are out in SD tonight, but I'll be trying to stay up to enjoy #OctoberBaseball. #ThisIsMyCrew #WinOurWay

I probably should give credit to my MIL last night for hinting to Mr. Mouse and myself that *maybe* there was a #Brewers comeback win. She doesn't usually text me about sports, unless something crazy happens. So I was still nervous as anything watching the last dozen or so outs, but hopeful.

Text message chain on dark background, with blue text background for received texts.

>> Did you watch Brewers
<< We are currently mid-7. Stopped the game to do bedtimes, so plz no spoilers
>> Nope

{34 minutes later}

<< We have finished the game. Do you know the result?
>> Yes. So exciting. My BP was rising
<< Haha, we were hoping it was good news when we got your text, but I didn't look until just now. 🤯
>> Nail biter
<< They are so impressive. And they aren't scared of anything.

Mr. Mouse and I voted today, dropping our absentee ballots off while running errands. Dems across the ballot for me, undervoting a few races where only a Republican was running. #Wisconsin voters - I recommend a NO VOTE for all 3 state constitution referenda. #GOTV #WisDems #VoteBlue2026

Credit to my grandma. She passed a few years ago, but I typed up a ton of her favorite recipes years ago. She was a retired home ec teacher and regular judge at the #Wisconsin State Fair and local county fairs for foods entries.

Screenshot of a recipe -

Schaum Torte
* Stick of butter
* 6 large egg whites
* 2 cups sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* Pinch of salt
* 1 Tablespoon vinegar or 1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Preheat oven to 500ºF. Grease angel food cake pan with butter and refrigerate while
making the torte.

Whip egg whites until they form stiff peaks. Gradually add sugar at low speed. Follow
with vanilla, pinch of salt, and vinegar or cream of tartar. When all ingredients are
blended, pour into chilled pan and place in hot oven. Turn off oven after placing torte
inside. Leave closed for at least 4 hours or overnight.

When ready to serve, remove from pan onto a serving plate and top with fresh fruit
such as strawberries, peaches, bananas, or raspberries. Top with whipped cream or
ice cream. Another alternative is to add this lemon custard topping.

Lemon Custard
* 4 egg yolks, beaten
* ½ cup sugar
* ¼ cup lemon juice
* ½ pint cream

Cook yolks, sugar, and lemon juic in double boiler until custard is consistency to
spread nicely on torte. Cool, then whip ½ pint cream (or whipped cream) and fold into custard. Serve on top of schaum torte if desired.

Statement from Rick Crosson's campaign about challenges filed with the #Wisconsin Election Commission -

Statement from Rick Crosson

Accountability cannot depend on party affiliation.

When my campaign reviewed nomination papers, we applied the same standard to every candidate. Republican and Democrat alike. We looked at the facts and whether the requirements of Wisconsin law were met. The challenges we filed are not about politics.

It's about whether Wisconsin law was followed.

The Wisconsin Election Commission will review the facts and make its determination.

The same rules. The same standard. For everyone.

Note on chives/cheese - I did ~1/8 cup batter per muffin, added a sprinkle of chives and cheese, another ~1/8 cup batter, and some more chives and cheese on top for flavor and to distinguish from the plain ones. Yum. #GoPackGo

Eric Nehm, throwing 💣💣💣 Facts that the TrAdEGiAnNiS commentariat seems to forget.

Screenshot from Athletic article, text as follows:

Nehm’s mock GM reaction: There will be no protections on any picks sent in a trade for Antetokounmpo. This is one of the best players on the planet in the middle of his prime under contract for the next two (or three) seasons. The New York Knicks gave up four unprotected first-round picks, a top-four protected first-round pick and an unprotected first-round pick swap for Mikal Bridges, who has never made an All-Star Game or All-NBA team. Even if I concede that was an overpay, I regret to inform other general managers that they will also be overpaying for Antetokounmpo. The number of picks and swaps should probably start around eight.
