It depends because California has regions. Some regions of course get lots more rain. I lived in N Cal and we always got more rain than Southern Cal. Southern Cal is ugly and dead. N Cal Alive and green

Huge aqueducts that holds lots of water. Newsom was going to build some years ago but he used that money towards high speed railways that never took off instead. Most of Cals water runs into the ocean
