One of the scarcest gas masks in me and the BF's collection is this unknown North Korean design One of only two known examples in private collectors' hands and perhaps the only example in the U.S. - the other known example(s?) are in Russia We still don't even know its proper name! :O #gasmask

Unknown North Korean Gas Mask - the object sitting in front of it is the inner nose cup, which I removed during a cleaning but found it difficult to reinstall, so I simply left it out for now. The mask itself is also missing the cover for the outlet valve.

U.S. M6-12-8 Dog Gas Mask, c.1944 Issued during WWII through Korea - very scarce mask as few were made. They were almost used in Vietnam, but existing stocks were in too poor of condition. This was on the BF's 'holy grail' list for quite some time, and now we finally managed to secure one ^///^

The M6 Dog Gas Mask. Unfortunately just the muzzlepiece and M12 canisters - this specimen is missing the rubberized M8 Carrier Bag.

Head harness reversed, showing the rubber peripheral face seal. The inlet holes of the canisters are protected by E4R2 Mud Guards to prevent debris from clogging the filters.

The M6 Muzzlepiece is bigger than you might expect! It is sized for large military working dogs, such as German Shepherds, and if not for the stiff condition of the rubberized canvas muzzlepiece, a human might be able to wear it!
