Chabad was founded in 1775. The Rebbe became Rebbe in 1950. The first chabad emissaries (building on the work of his father-in-law) a week later. Meanwhile the franchise (since I assume that's what @rabbiandykahn.com meant) began in 1955... Anyhow chag sameach to everyone on here.

ROCHEL PINSON, 102 Senior Chabad Emissary Together with her husband, Rabbi Nissan Pinson, she was sent by the Rebbe to help Jewish life in North Africa, beginning in the early 1950s. After her husband's passing, she continued overseeing Chabad in Tunisia.
