Great video, really enjoyable to watch and some thought provoking stuff in there. Nice to dig into what freedom is beyond the glossy magazine adverts and agree re autonomy. Look forward to the next vid.

Early morning ride today on one of my favourite Hertfordshire roads. The sun pops out through the trees at around 30 seconds and it was pretty magical. Doesn't get better than this. #Motosky

Very cool. Love your digital speedometer as well. Mine packed up a few weeks ago and a new one’s on order.

This is basically Gramos in King's Cross, a specialty coffee kiosk built straight into the Northern Ticket Hall. Always nice to not have to choose between catching your train and getting a decent coffee.

New story live on motorcyclegrounds.com. Ten years on the same corner of Crouch End, and Velasquez and Van Wezel have built something beyond good coffee. These guys are a great find, and a great stop if heading into London. #specialtycoffee #Motosky #CrouchEnd

I couldn’t possibly introduce my partner to something this comfortable. There’d be no going back.

Thanks for having a look. They were all unique but Bible coffee was probably the most surprising. I’ve not come across a shop like it in my travels.

Looks like it’s been well looked after. I had a roadster once, great bike.

6 years is really something to be proud of. Well done!

Medium every time for me, light roasts are great in theory but I want something that still tastes like coffee after the third cup of the day.

Nice work! That kind of fiddly wiring problem is quite satisfying to actually solve rather than just patch over. Good call capping it.

Not crazy, but I'd want a source on that one too. Precious metal cats are expensive to make, but "steel replica" sounds like it'd fail emissions testing outright. Curious where that claim came from.

"Asking for help" being the actual starting point, not an afterthought, is the part more people need to hear. Well done on 6 years.

Knowing your own limits with breakable mugs is its own kind of wisdom. Fair play.

New story live on motorcyclegrounds.com. My top 5 coffee stops in Rhodes, all easily reached by motorcycle or scooter. Spent time with each of the owners and heard the real stories behind them. Highly recommend hitting them up next time you're in town. #motosky #specialtycoffee

No shame in this at all, PSL day feels like a seasonal marker. Enjoy the first one of the year.

The bit about it relying on drivers actually looking is the real hole in the theory. Bigger bike, brighter gear, none of it matters if nobody's turning their head. I've had closer calls on quieter roads where I'd have assumed I was easy to spot than in traffic where I expected to be invisible.

The eternal tension between "drink it fresh" and "don't waste a single bean." No wrong answer here.

600 miles in 3 days is proper touring distance, rain and all. Achill Island looks v nice!

The most reliable alarm clock there is. Hope the book was worth it before the interruption.

Oh the best kind of latte art, at least it gives you something to think about while the rain sets in.

Going in for a Royal Enfield and leaving distracted by two Triumphs is a very relatable problem. Sounds like a great day all round.

Wrapping up my Greece trip with another visit to Monk. Managed to get this shot with Panagiotis who’s always busy behind the till. I’ve met so many interesting, hard-working, and passionate coffee shop owners and can’t wait to get my top 5+ summary on the site next week. #motosky #specialtycoffee
Panagiotis, owner of Monk Coffee in Rhodes and David posing for a photo in front of the coffee shop. On the left and right, parked in front of them, are scooters.

I’m sorry for the loss of your family member, that’s an enormous thing to carry. You were able to stay fully present through it, clear-headed when it mattered most. Thank you for sharing something this personal.

New story out now on motorcyclegrounds.com. Rode out to Unik Specialty Coffee Brewers in Rhodes, one of only a few real specialty coffee spots on the island. Helmet off, double espresso on, in that order. #motosky #specialtycoffee
A motorcycle helmet next to an empty Unik Specialty Coffee Brewers cup on a wooden table, with plants in the background.Stacks of pink Unik Specialty Coffee Brewers cups beside the espresso machine, with the shop's wall sign visible above.

Transformation of thought and attitude is bang on. Getting to grips with the facts of alcohol, its effects on the body, and the advertising that pushes it all was essential learning for me. Once that was understood, I didn’t want to drink anymore. With it out of my system I could focus on me.

See what you mean. I actually loved that movie. That’s a slick looking bike.

American here living in the UK for 20+ yrs. Agree that if you are outside a city, you genuinely will struggle to get a decent coffee. Maybe they are referring to the fact that it’s not a bottomless cup like it is there. But more of a bad thing is still a bad thing, right?

Stove top moka pot any day of the week. And for me it’s every day of the week! Also on hols, moka pot was the first thing packed.

Ok, help me out as a non yoga person please. I’ve never tried it and I’m in my mid-forties. I recently read about the benefits of it in Sober on a Drunk Planet and the case for it was put pretty strongly I’ll admit. But interesting to hear about it from others. So, why yoga?

Enjoyed the video. And that’s a serious amount of kilometres to do in under two years! I was pretty proud of my mileage until now ;)

New story out now on motorcyclegrounds.com. Monk Coffee/The Pure Roasters opened right into the pandemic, then lost two of its three founders. Six years later, founder Panagiotis is still standing, still making the standards non-negotiable. #motosky #SpecialtyCoffee
The round hanging Monk Coffee/The Pure Roasters shop sign mounted under an awning, next to Greek shopfront signs on a Rhodes Town street

I don’t leave home without mine. Outperforms the super slick home-marketed-machines in my opinion. And yes, I see the resemblance!

Community is so important. Even now 7+ years in. But in the early days especially. There’s no need to do this alone!
