RIP Glad Day. Was the oldest surviving queer bookstore in North America, until it closed recently. Sad to see an important LGBTQ space and another independent bookstore bite the dust. But I appreciate the people who spent years trying to keep it going.

A relative just told me about neighbors seeing flying squirrels, and I honestly didn't believe them at first. But they... were always there. Somehow growing up, I never knew I was sharing habitat with these guys!

Update: Alberta is a horribly beautiful province. Just look at this. Completely terrible. People in Ontario would wait in line to see a rock that fell off one of these mountains.

Looked up Careless People on my local public library system. 965 holds for 247 copies. Hope this means more people ditching Facebook products.

Been really enjoying this nonfiction book about ecology and urban edgelands. Apparently Christopher Brown also writes fiction. Should I read Tropic of Kansas? #books #BookSky

They're just pandering to older people afraid of leaving their small towns and all white suburban neighborhoods, who will never stop believing NYC looks like this: Also pushing paranoid racism. Selling ghost stories to this demographic is the whole business model.

Done a few months ago. No regrets. Couldn't stop thinking about all the assholery in those inauguration photos, and my desire to not give these creeps more money:

When I was little, matchbox cars were a great Christmas present. And getting them felt like a big deal. Somehow I always thought they cost more than this. But apparently, they're the same price as a candy bar? This probably says a lot about my childhood.

Hilarious that Shoppers Drug Mart is advertising that Oreos are Canadian. Introduced by Nabisco in 1912, and currently owned by American multinational corporation Mondelez International. The "buy Canadian" discourse already feels like hype.
