was looking up tips and I think this is relevant for anyone trying to avoid fw spoilers... turns out the game itself can spoil you lol

text reads "Avoid Guest Character Spoilers

During the qualifier matches of the Heroic Games, you will frequently be paired with other Flame Lords or notable teams as guest characters. Many of these characters have mysterious backstories and motivations that are withheld from you until the right moment in the story, but be warned! If you inspect each of your guest characters in detail when they temporarily join your team, you can stumble across their “Personal History” page, which provides a summary of important events for any of your characters. Some of these summaries give away the entire backstories for your guest character, which will spoil a number of important reveals later in the game. If you want to preserve the storytelling, don’t let the game get in its own way, and avoid reading these screens!"

okay when I imagined a musical about lestat, a lot of potential descriptions (both positive and negative) came to mind, but "snooze-fest" was not one of them. how on earth did they apparently manage to make this boring lmao

wikipedia page for the reception of the lestat musical that says: "Reviews of the Broadway production were uniformly negative. The New York Post's verdict was "Bloody Awful", and the Newark Star-Ledger opined that it was "just deadly." Lamenting the show's "soporific" nature, Ben Brantley of The New York Times wrote: "Joining the ranks of Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata and other prescription lullaby drugs is Lestat, the musical sleeping pill...Dare to look upon Lestat and keep your eyelids from growing heavier and heavier and heavier." Brantley also characterized the play's songs as "pulpy and mostly interchangeable". Washington Post critic Peter Marks mused that "Lestat's contribution to art and equality is demonstrating that a gay vampire with a two-octave range can be just as dull as a straight one."

I was saying how it feels like uma musume being based on real race horses stunts the game's writing and today I read that the oguri cap/symboli rudolph yuri in the original trailer got axed because the horses' original owners hated it so much they threatened to rescind the rights to use the horses

gay luigi? @mothiman.bsky.social · 09/07/2025

like this kinda stuff (from a reddit post) is just SO stupid. it all feels so calculated, which I realize is a hilarious thing to say about an anime gacha game but I want my fictional moeblobs to be actually fictional and not just an elaborate ploy to get more people hooked on japanese horse racing

me desperately trying to come up with theories about wtf is going on before I get any further into this game

100

gay luigi? @mothiman.bsky.social · 11/05/2025

I'm not exaggerating when I say this reveal killed my hype for the entire rest of the game and now I don't know if I'm gonna do any other routes. will probably just look at spoilers and decide from there.

100

gay luigi? @mothiman.bsky.social · 12/01/2025

also I’m fully aware this doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things especially considering the actual serious brewing threats to lgbtq rights in the US, but seeing the goofy-ass tumblr terminology that is “achillean” on wikipedia is like. come on man lol

110

gay luigi? @mothiman.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

also I'm lowkey obsessed with kim and this bit of dialogue you can get after he kicks your ass in a board game absolutely blindsided me lmao

I’ve been watching tv on this screen all night and only now when I’m watching the zone of interest does my cat attack the screen and get in the way of the subtitles. trying to neutralize the nazi threat, surely

I think I complain too much on social media so I need to make up for it by posting positive things, like this picture of my cat curled up into a perfect orb

Black cat on a blanket curled up into a ball asleep. Her face and legs aren’t visible but her little ear is poking out of the top.

I was thinking that kinako and ren hadn't been getting enough screentime this season but then we get a great episode focusing on them both. I ended up loving their dynamic, they're both so awkward and endearing and omg kinako's egao no promise outfit is SO cute look at her!!

saw this tweet that someone for some reason thought was good enough to repost to tumblr, and I just want to say that way too many people on social media have duped themselves into thinking doomscrolling is a form of activism
