JK Rowling has a page up at jkrwf.org where you can ask for financial aid to fight the good fight. So I’ve asked for some money to help in the fight against her being so nasty for no reason. Please do join in, every little helps.

Oh good grief. Talk about 'coronation'. This is ridiculous. Why go and look at the arrivals board at the station when you can use your helicopter?

Put creativity at the heart of education. Not money.
The Government needs to put creativity at the heart of education. Their current plan to give £16/year to schools for each pupil sounds OK until you realise it's not just for the arts but also sports, civic activity, nature and life skills. So, a pencil and sheet of paper per pupil per year, then.
The Labour government's attitude towards so many things is just so completely disgraceful. Money is the only thing that matters to them - that and appeasing Brexiters/fascists/TERFs - and really, what are we living for? Do we measure our 'success' by our salary?
The link below is an open letter to Bridget Philipson, education minister, urging her to take the creative arts seriously and not to fill school timetables with English, Maths and subjects which are simply exam sausage machines.
We are going to have a generation of children with full marks in being stupid. Just like the current, disappointing government.

I see the Guardian subs have limited understanding of French. Whilst it does indeed say that there is foie gras available for tasting on the small blackboard, the tins contain only duck thighs, gizzards and necks. No livers. I'm available for translation services on demand.

This is what future French chefs are learning to cook at my alma mater, l'Ecole Hotelière d'Avignon: "...flan de champignons coulis de cresson et éclats de noisette, un filet de truite confit à l’huile d’olive..." - lovely stuff and lots of interesting techniques to know about.
