These rules remind me of First Year Latin and dear old Brother John. But if the first two letters are ever the same I drop them both, then say the name Like Bob, Bob, drop the B's for Ob Or Fred, Fred, drop the F's for Red Or Mary, Mary, drop the M's for Ary That's the only rule that is contrary.

The life and career of Staten Island's own, David Johansen (1950-2025) in this 2022 documentary by Martin Scorsese and David Tedeschi, centered around a fantastic 2020 Buster Poindexter show at the Hotel Carlyle. Buster alone is Hall of Fame worthy. You can get it at NYPL.

The Ritz, right up the street from my childhood home in Port Richmond, Staten Island. Another of the great movie palaces from the 1930's. In it's later years some great rock bands played there.
