☕️ Shape the future of Java. Join us on 1 October in Walldorf for a JCP Community Meetup with talks on Project Valhalla, Value Objects, and Java for AI. Meet Java community members, JCP representatives, and developers — and join the conversation. www.jug-da.de/2026/10/JCP-... #Java #JCP #OpenJDK

Dear bluesky: Does anyone here work at #SAP and want to show off a cool #opensource project they work on (at least partially) on company time? Then please message me, as I'm looking for people to tell cool stories in an SAP internal OSPO meetup in Walldorf. Please share...

I need your help: If anyone wants to send me an audio snippet saying "Boring" (as in "Java 26 is stable. It's boring."), I would happily accept them. I want to play this audio via a button press during a talk. In other news: I'm speaking at @amsterdam.voxxeddays.com with @lutskedev.bsky.social.

Java 25 got a new CPU time profiler, get into the details and the journey to get there in my talk at @jfokus.se early February: jfokus.se

Actually, OpenJDK 25 is 18% faster than OpenJDK 17 and 21 and a whopping 84% faster than OpenJDK 11. Upgrade now!

I'm happy to announce that my meta-agent (a Java agent that instruments other Java agents) now has a nicer Web UI (thanks @hardcoding.fr): github.com/parttimenerd...

Having a last name that comes early when sorted alphabetically sometimes has its advantages:

RIP Java Applets. You made Java popular and helped it grow to what it is today. JEP 504: Remove the Applet API has been proposed to target (openjdk.org/jeps/504), so there will be no more applets with the next JDK (JDK 26).

I just updated the JFR events collection (sapmachine.io/jfrevents). It now includes JDK 25 and JDK 26 with my CPUTimeSample event:

Well...
mgronlun left a comment:

| am approving this PR for the following reasons:
1. We have reached a state that is "good enough" - | no longer see any fundamental design issues that can not be handled
by follow-up bug fixes.
2. There are still many vague aspects included with this PR, as many has already pointed out, mostly related to the
memory model and thread interactions - all those can, and should, be clarified, explained and exacted post-integration.
3. The feature as a whole is experimental and turned off by default.
4. Today is the penultimate day before JDK 25 cutoff. To give the feature a fair chance for making JDK25, it needs approval
now.
Thanks a lot Johannes and all involved for your hard work getting this feature ready.
Many thanks
Markus

I needed a QR code for a presentation and found nythrox.github.io/halftone-qrc.... It allows you to add a picture to your QR code in a few different ways.
