Retired now. Just sailing away into oblivion. If you are feeling exhausted, you have lots of company.

Wandered about my town yesterday. There is a story to this house.

Azalea Park in Brookings Oregon a few days ago. I think that tree is endemic to New Zealand.

Here is the mislabeled Africa map. With all the labels incorrect, it pretty much renders the entire infographic useless for research or decision-making purposes. It's painful that such a careless mistake made it to the AIDS conference.

Nice afternoon on the Oregon coast this day.

What would the world be like without Taffy?

Needing some advice here. My next neighbor passed away last night and her dog is in my apartment generally going berserk... Anxious and barking constantly. It's limbo for Little Wolf.

Taffy likes her.

Not a cat and not my best photo ever taken of a pet. Just my old companion Ruby RIP.

I'm Taffy. This morning I barked at a psychologist.

Posting this for no good reason other than that she used to chase me around on the playground when we were kids. I miss her. I think her name was Susie or some variation. There were quite a few Susies in those days.

I am Taffy and am a pretty good looking German pincher, don’t you think?

These are sour fig blossoms I believe. AI tells me that. They are in full bloom here on the West Coast.

For mental health reasons, I am going to post a photo taken by me every day. They will mostly have to do with my small perspective of the beautiful land and sea where I reside. So here is Day One.

My dog Taffy scanning the horizon from the living room window. Taffy is a German pincher.

David Smithson 🦋🇨🇦🇺🇦🏳️‍🌈⛺️🌎🐶🐱☮️ @mostly-h2o.bsky.social · 19/02/2026

It seems sensible for us to take our cues from the civil rights movement. To rise up in the face of injustice is nothing new. But it is powerful as long as we are together and as long as we stay committed.

This image of a man's collapse during a White House ceremony and Trump's utter disregard, if not distain, is disgusting.

Good sized crowd in our rural coastal County for the No Kings protest Saturday. The wind was typically brutal, but to my knowledge none of us went airborne.
