Being a somewhat gets it wrong lefty and a Pokemon card collector hitting Gumshoos full art, which is obviously a stand in for Don, from a random mega evolution booster pack and its ability being “Evidence Gathering” on the full art card is a level of lol. #pokemon #pokemontcg #auspol #uspol

That’s the only way system level change occurs in a market driven system and unfortunately to achieve that change Government has to target spending at the bulk of households: Working and Middle class else battery installations would continue to skew towards the wealthy.

Moshing Chris @moshingchris.bsky.social · 23/09/2025
So as my last name is Mid take: 5–10% of household demand off-grid in 5 years, while decentralised daytime solar floods the grid meaning households save and businesses and those who can’t uptake sponge that available energy reducing overheads.

Also from an equity point of view early adopters under the cheaper home batteries scheme are likely paying more per kWh even after the rebate than slower adopters will in 3 years time due to the effects of crowding in.

Moshing Chris @moshingchris.bsky.social · 23/09/2025
Bit of a stretch given Solar and Battery uptake is higher in the price sensitive/energy intensive working class, regional and mortgage belts. It’s closer to 0.57% and the schemes been alive for less than 3 months.

Seen a ton of so called “Solar Designers” that don’t understand the economics of energy under the new battery paradigm oversizing panel installs on houses. No joke I am starting to think I may just do appraisals for free for Adelaide consumers. #auspol #cheaperhomebatteries #energyefficiency

There are a few plot holes in his alt history premise. The argument is allowing Imperial German primacy in Europe as a continent straddling super power.

Broadening the GST to include everything and then raising and indexing the TFT to the minimum wage is a better solution. It positions the TFT as the control rod for the rest of the brackets, removes brackets creep and does away with smooth brain neoliberal “vote tax cuts”.

Yesterday was my 20th day with a home battery. Realistically for sub 5 year payback given how we use energy 20kWh would have been excessive. I installed 30kWh. Crowd it in. Also if you’re in the Adelaide area my installer is local and doesn’t tele-market #auspol #energy #renewables #adelaide

Yeah for sure. Wouldn’t matter anyway, the guardrail has always been that Australia produces way more beef than it could ever need. Export demand is so high that it impacts local prices

4/ In other words, the more you add, the cheaper it gets per kWh . . . until you hit the cap. And in every system I have seen advertised and installed the discount is more than 30% because a typical install is no longer an inverter and a single battery module. #batteries #renewables #auspol
010
Moshing Chris @moshingchris.bsky.social · 08/07/2025
3/ This usually means that every additional kilowatt-hour of capacity (up to the 50 kWh limit) benefits from a lower effective cost per kWh, since the fixed inverter and gateway costs are spread across a larger total capacity.
100
Moshing Chris @moshingchris.bsky.social · 08/07/2025
2/ Additional battery modules are comparatively cheap. You only pay once for the gateway/inverter and major labour . . . not every time you add capacity. Adding extra modules is usually quick, simple, and low-cost, so most of the rebate still goes directly toward usable storage
100
Moshing Chris @moshingchris.bsky.social · 08/07/2025
1/ This isn’t entirely accurate. The rebate is $370 per usable kWh of capacity, but after admin and aggregator fees, it works out to around $334 per kWh. The real cost lies in the inverters/gateways and labour . . . not the battery cells. #auspol #renewables #batteries

Bird mortality per gigawatt-hour is significantly higher in traditional power generation than in wind, especially when scaled to total output. Restoring and protecting drainage systems is essential climate policy — framing climate action as an ‘excuse to avoid’ doing it is a false dilemma
