Some close up bug photos.

A Red-spotted Purple butterfly resting wings down on driveway gravel.

A Brown Marmorated Stink Bug on the fruit of an Eastern Black Walnut tree, a fourth of the fruit taking up the bottom right of frame and a leaf taking up the top left of frame, the blurry green of trees in the background peeking through the opposite corners.

New bird pictures I've taken and fidgeted with.

A mockingbird left of frame standing on mulch, facing right and flashing the white strips on its wings to reflect light and spook bugs up to eat.

A Red-Winged Blackbird perched on a yield sign, backed by a clear blue sky

A Catbird left of frame walking in a puddle next to a curb, a cardinal on the curb to the right looking down.

A mockingbird perched on a power line facing right and calling out, shot from below, backed by clear sky and a tree behind it.

Fungi, flowers and moss from recent walks.

A yellowish Orange Cone Flower in bloom facing the camera, the background green from foliage. The petals look like two thin petals conjoined and forked at the end, a large dark black cone at the center.

A group of what I believe are Eastern American Jack O' Lantern mushrooms, growing from the bottom left up. The background is blurry green trees and clear sky peaking through. The mushrooms are a pumpkin-ish orange. There is a large flat one towards the front and bottom, a large tall one just behind whose gills you can see underneath, and several smaller ones behind and around.

Frostweed flowers with bugs crawling around various parts of the plant, the background green from foliage. They are small white flowers clustered together.

Smooth Hook Moss covering tree branches. The moss grows in leafy spindles stretching up to the sky, covering the tops and sides of branches in the green moss. The is one long branch stretching across the bottom, another shorter one angles up at a 45ish degree angle but is broken off before reaching the top left corner, and a third thinner branch with no moss intersects the two from the bottom up towards the camera.

Some birds and bugs from a nearby park.

Orange and Black Tawny Emperor butterfly landed wings outstretched on green grasses and leaves, one thin blade of grass extending over the butterfly.

A wet Green Heron, plumage black from the slow lake water, yellow legs half submerged and inching left across a submerged branch. Another floating log rests mostly submerged above and further from the Heron. To the left, leaves from foreground plants on the shore extend into frame.

Orange, brown and yellow fuzzy Spotted Orbweaver upside-down underside facing the camera, on their web feasting on maybe another insect. Water droplets rest in various spots to the top and right of the spider on the web, the background a blurry green and white from the plants and lake behind.

Two Egyptian Geese looking to the right standing and walking across a small beige pier for kayaks covered in wet dead leaves. They are close to the right edge of the pier, lake water extending to the top right and pier on the bottom left. Both geese are facing away from the camera. Their plumage is beige underneath, a rusty brown on top, with some white fringing the edge of the wings and tipped with black at the end. They have a distinctive rusty brown spot around their eye, which is a yellowish orange.
