Morgs @morgsedu.bsky.social · 22/03/2025Some Y6 SATs advice... Teach pupils, that whenever there is a multiple-choice question, they must go through each of them and eliminate the wrong answers as well as looking for the right answer. Prevents a lot of errors in my experience. 030

That’s the position that I was in yesterday at West London Free School Primary. Year 5 were learning about the Napeolonic Wars and I was on the edge of my seat. 4384

Morgs @morgsedu.bsky.social · 25/01/2025In an ideal world, all forms of assessment and application of knowledge would be in the form of individual responses through MWBs et al. We want all pupils to learn so all of them need to practise, respond, discuss etc. 100
Morgs @morgsedu.bsky.social · 25/01/2025Charlotte should have said that Frankie was the traitor because she only counted 3 minutes to stop the coin task early rather than the full 5. I was screaming at the TV for her to make that play! 010

Morgs @morgsedu.bsky.social · 25/01/2025For learning? Pupils emulating teachers' models, engaging in talk about the subject, answering questions correctly etc...all things that only evidence performance in the immediate but do contribute to knowledge retention over time. 100
Morgs @morgsedu.bsky.social · 25/01/2025We can't see learning and certain things are poor proxies (although not in contradiction of), but learning has to manifest itself in some form of observable behaviour so it is the best bet we have. 100
