I’m extremely connected to dogs and animals, they have always been part of my life. When the Russian war on Ukraine started I learned about this vet couple who decided to stay over and fight for the animals. Their stories are stories of tragedy and hope. www.instagram.com/vet.crew

The most AMAZING podcast of ALL TIME is #Ologies with Alie Ward @ologies.bsky.social, and today I heard Medieval Cadicology, and when I tell you medieval memes and snakes never sound so cool, THANK YOU @evanpridmore.bsky.social (also thank you from coming to BlueSky!)

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Are we seeing the brink of a Social media revolution? It will be messy, but I am all for it!

I understand that ChatGPT is down and fortunately this is not a problem for me as I have spent considerable time developing a local language model that I am able to run autonomously, fueled by Coke Zero and snacks

Die Zeit won't even show the salute.

Zeit Online showing a black and white picture of Elon Musk giving the salute, with blue painter's tape covering his arm. The headline is "Ein Hitlergruß ist ein Hitlergruß ist ein Hitlergruß" (A Hitler salute is a Hitler salute is a Hitler salute).

Some good news in the middle of this sh*t storm that has been the beginning of this year.

Watched Nosferatu yesterday, and I am amused by how much homage it paid to the originals including the theatrical tone! Pure horror finesse!

I’m wary of new year resolutions, but I am trying something (again), which is deleting media-based doom-scroll apps like Instagram and Reddit. I have the muscle memory of opening Instagram so ingrained I do it without noticing, 100% dopamine addiction. Hopefully this improves my attention and mood.

People are more complicated than tech! And then there are some days where they’re both complicated and your brain hurts.

Somebody else feeling like this year took way too long to end? Those year recaps on news feel like it was more than one year, honestly!

Challenge of the day: making 2nd and 3rd buttons look good on all surfaces, including colored ones. I solved the text hue issue with darker tones, but still had an issue with the button background... Today I had this epiphany, ...CSS blend modes? Might have found the solution! #designsystem
