I just want to say "Fuck Google" for lobotomizing home assistant. I used to be able to ask " how much caffeine is in a 500mL bottle of Dr pepper?" And it would respond with an answer and sources. Now it just says " I don't understand." I gotta get around to finishing my home assistant setup.

I read that Google is positioning itself as an incidental AI SAAS host rather than as a primary business model. If they can undercut companies like openai with free offerings, the bubble will pop. As soon as good enough models are small enough to embed, it'll be game over.

I've been working on a personal project the past few days doing all of my work on models hosted on my laptop. No data centers needed beyond the initial model creation. The data center bubble will pop eventually due to models like Qwen and Deepseek. Overvalued companies will be screwed.

I've been in IT since 2000, and working in agile environments since 2006. Continuous improvement is a bedrock tenant with successful projects- I don't expect AI to "boil the ocean" and have everything perfect at the first go; it will continuously get better, cheaper and faster as time goes on.

Okay #3dprinting community, I just replaced the hot end on my ender 3 V2 with an all metal micro Swiss. I was able to finally get good bed adhesion, but it crapped out a few layers in. Any suggestions before I go on a wild goose chase?

Here's the technique I came up with: seam down, meat defrost (~7min), flip, 1min at 50% power. Center is hot but not scalding, and no volcanoing at the seam or ends.

I have a gas grill/ pellet smoker. I have charcoal pellets in the hopper right now and fire that up at the same time. I fire up the gas. By the time the grill is hot, the pellets are smoking and I get the flavor and consistency that I want A+, would recommend.

My City just voted to ban drag story hour at a pride event. They did it in a special meeting across the street from city hall at the fire department or there were no cameras. One of the council members courted the meeting. Once it made the news, the backlash was severe. 4 days later they reverse it.
