Must've been agonising to have been out of the spotlight for so long! This club demands attention. Credit to the new owners for making such a spectacular mess of things so quickly. That takes skill.

Disappointing to see the BBC getting the basics wrong, here. Kuljeet Singh Momi is neither the majority shareholder in Panjab Warriors nor Morecambe - he's not even the largest shareholder in PW. PW have bought about 76% of Morecambe. Momi owns 42.5% of Panjab, giving him about 33% of Morecambe. 1/

Various members of Panjab Warriors begin arriving in separate cars and enter the stadium for meetings.

Among them are Kuljeet Singh Momi - the majority shareholder in Panjab Warriors and therefore the club - and Ropinder Singh, who says he will become the club's CEO. Another has flown from Venice

Late afternoon, Monday 11th August, Jason Whittingham: "We will be appointing an Interim Board imminently to facilitate the final stages of the sale process." As of now, no directors have been appointed.
Key stakeholders of the club are regularly updated, as we along with our Advisory team engage with Buyers and remain fully supportive of the process.

Goldring doesn't own part of Morecambe and has no right to act in a directorial or ownership capacity. He has no entitlement to be part of those negotiations nor approval of the relevant authorities. Which leads one to wonder if facts about Morecambe's ownership and finances have been concealed.

Jason Whittingham is perhaps the worst owner in English professional football. Morecambe deserves not just better than him - that's a low, low bar - but an owner set up to rebuild the club and then help move it forward. To my mind, all we really know about PW is they aren't Jason Whittingham.

With two months wages unpaid, outstanding Vat liabilities, and no communication between the owner and any prospective buyer, it seems hard to imagine what assurances financial or otherwise Jason Whittingham could give to the National League. And given that, the NL's options are limited.

I'm not lawyer, so I have no idea. I don't think he could afford to buy them out (he owns 80%) and nor are they objecting to any specific buyer - they just want it done. As to the delay, you may well be right.

Today in Morecambe: -the players, who've had only 1/3 of their June pay, have decided (rightly) to down tools until the club changes hands -the Supporters Trust say that the supposed new bidders have not been in touch with the National League and, essentially, accuse Jason Whittingham of lying
Summary 21/07/2025

The Trust would like to update members and fans alike on our actions, and the updates throughout the day/ over the weekend.

Bond Group

The Shrimps Trust understand that 'Jonny Cato' and consortium haven't been introduced to the National League. And evidently due to lack of update from Bond Group, a deal wasn't signed as promised, yet again. Tomorrow never comes with this man, it is always false promise, at convenient moments, to cause more delay, whilst our club slowly dies.

Every tomorrow that goes by, is another unpaid bill for our club staff. It's another reminder letter from someone they owe money to, through no fault of their own.

The only person to blame for that is Jason Whittingham. The knock-on effects of this for the staff at the club are huge. No more nonsense statements for the benefit of Sky.

No more dangling wages being paid in the cruel way you have over the past 3 weeks.

Sell the club. Jason.

Regulators

We have been in touch with the EFL, NL & FA over the weekend. We urge all parties to move on matters as quickly as possible, especially after the Panjab Warriors statement over the weekend. We are meeting with the NL on Tuesday and will provide an update. We have worked with Lizzi Collinge MP over the weekend to urge the need for expedience from the regulating bodies.

Panjab Warriors

We were pleased to see PW statement yesterday. As per our previous statements we have been working with PW in relation to their legal action and will continue to support their needs in these

matters.

Fixtures

Having made some enquiries we understand that the fixture on Tuesday has been cancelled as the players as a group have decided not to play until the current ownership position is resolved. The players along with club staff have not been paid for nearly 4 weeks. We support their decision.

Media

Thank you to all the media outlets for their support. We remain in touch with all contacts made and hope our story will continue to get more …

Morecambe Football Club can confirm that, due to ongoing circumstances at the club, our upcoming pre-season fixture against Barrow AFC on Tuesday 22 July at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium will now be played behind closed doors.
We understand the disappointment this will cause to both sets of fans, particularly those who had planned to attend and show their support. We all share your frustration and appreciate your continued patience and understanding during this time.

For context: the cost of the Club World Cup trophy that Trump stole, necessitating the creation of a new one, would clear Morecambe's outstanding player wages and Vat bill. What is no more than loose change to the top of football would rescue clubs at the bottom.

"Morecambe is being held hostage - a move that threatens its very surival. We believe the undisclosed mention of so-called investors at this late stage is misleading and potentially fraudulent." Morecambe's prospective owners come out swinging. (Via @mattsevern.bsky.social)
THE TIME IS NOW - COMPLETE THE SALE AND SAVE MORECAMBE FC

July 8, 2025

Morecambe Football Club stands at a critical crossroads. The next 24 hours will define the future of this club, its people, and its legacy.

From the Panjab Warriors side, everything is ready. Our legal team has confirmed that all documentation has been complete since last week, all conditions have been met, and funds are in place. The sale is sec- onds away from completion-all that is required is Jason Whittingham's signature.

Ye despite reaching this final moment, Morecambe FC is being held hostage. We now suspect the clu is used as leverage in unrelated personal financial matters-a move that threatens its very sur

Starf remain unpaid, tension is mounting, and the impact on morale within the club is growing by the hour. Critical financial deadlines are being missed. Morecambe FC is now on life support.

As stated by the Club:

Outstanding Payroll - £131,000. This has been overdue since June 28, and it is unimaginable the pain this is causing to everyone at MFC.

VAT - £45,000. This is due to be paid before Wednesday, July 9 (Today) to HMRC.

The total of these obligations is £176,000, which must be paid by today at the very latest. Failure to do so may result in the club being placed under transfer embargo and at risk of administration.

Let us be clear:

Bond Group no longer has the means or mandate to run this football club. Morecambe has been up for sale for over 1,000 days, and only now-at the final hurdle-do we hear claims of unspecified investors (which were never disclosed to anyone until this final stage) needing to approve the sale. Our investiga- tions do not support this narrative. It appears to be yet another tactic to stall progress and evade re sponsibility. The Panjab Warriors have been fully approved by the EFL, and all funds-source and sufficiency-have been cleared. Over the past 14 months, we have continuously supported the club financially, providing £1.7 million in working capital, in addition to the £3.8 million purchase sum.

We believe the undisclosed mention of so-called investors at this late stage is misleading and potentially fraudulent.

We issue this final appeal to Jason Whittingham: Sign the paperwork. Release the club. Do the right thing.

We also call upon:

The UK Government

The Local MP

The English Football League

ational League

...to intervene and enforce the completion of this sale. This is no longer a private transaction-it is a matter of public interest and the survival of a historic football club.

To the Morecambe fans, the Shrimp Trust, and the Board of Directors: we thank you for your continued strength and support. Your perseverance throughout this entire process has been nothing short of inspi-

rational.

This is the final hour. Let's not look back with regret.
