My Christmas wish is that we stop thinking of those less well off mainly on Christmas and Thanksgiving. People are hungry and hurting all year round.

Better yet, let us have a political economy where becoming rich is not possible.

I am in the queue to talk to my Texas Representative in January. I am not expecting much because he is a Tory (Republican).

My suggestion is for her to make reproductive rights front and center. Judges are not viewed as responsible for inflation [my hypothesis why the Tories (Republicans)did so well]. That should push her over.

In other countries, the Conservative Party is called the Tory party. I think that name should attach to Republicans. In the American experience, the Tories were the loyalist who sided with the British in the revolutionary war. It is apropos.

John Rawls asks us to consider what kind of world we would build if we knew nothing about where we would end up in it. That would require to design a world with safety nets in case the designer ended up in the lower end. We all need to ask ourselves that question. Read A Theory of Justice.

We were not present in 1787 when our current social contract was executed. Things have changed over the past 250 years. The contract as executed was flawed evidenced by all the amendments. We need a new contract that includes justice as a fundamental right.

I spent a great deal of my career investigation abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly and persons with disabilities. I learned so much from these folks — especially persons with developmental disabilities. I want to see them everywhere in the community.

I subsist on Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid and SNAP. Please reply and share how cuts to these or other programs you subsist on would affect you. For me, I'd have no health care, I'd be homeless and starve to death. Let's put all our cards on the table. Whether it is the VA or CHIP please share.

I requested an appointment with my Texas State Representative. I want to talk to him about modifying the abortion laws and property taxes. I predict he will only be sympathetic to half my issues.

I am concerned about the Texas property tax scheme. The tax rate is fine, but the rate is applied to the appraised value of your home. The value can go up 10% a year. Since property values are soaring, I may be priced out of house soon.

There is too much propaganda and not enough critical thinking. I am not certain how to convince people to check their emotions with analysis to see if they can justify them.

I am tired of economic externalities that are when the price of something does not reflect its actual cost causing extra profit. For example, the cost of petroleum products does not the damage it does to the environment.

I was fisted by the invisible hand.

The Constitution allows congress to set the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. We do not have to wait until we can get sympathetic Justices; we can limit the cases they can hear on appeal. And that can be done with a simple act of congress as opposed to an amendment.

@corgiowner.bsky.social I usually get terriers, but I love corgis. I went to a corgi festival and they would let the dogs round up sheep. A sheep got out of the pen and the corgi chased it through a pasture until it got the sheep back in the pen. One of my fondest memories.
