we end with a warm recommendation for the Blod (and Goldscammer and Leda!) show in Brussels. also some details about the upcoming morc/lise event on nov 5th.
records played in this episode of morcfm - including 'The lost beliefs' - one of the songs from the upcoming Goldscammer lp 'Mayday Royale'. an incredible 10 minute long epic. for the rest of the album, you'll have to wait until late october. more details in the next few weeks. more great goldscammer news: we'll set up an lp presentation here in ghent on thursday november 5th. also: more details really soon. or listen to the episode, and you're hearing about the line-up first.
also in this episode: new material by synergy trllogy, thomas bush and leda, a part about our recently rediscovered love for joy division, which also brings us to a very rare Low recording, and a very underappreciated Roy Montgomery-piece. and we end with a warm recommendation for the Blod (and Goldscammer and Leda!) show in Brussels. what a month.

last week's episode of morcfm can now be re-listened. --> morctapes.com/morcfm we released the circle bros lp 'wade' just days before this episode. so, that asks for a special. we thought it'd be nice to focus on the people mentioned in the credits of this album.
so we'll talk about Owen, Annelies, Michael, Chris, Jessica and Jochen. Most of them make music, so we talk about their music as well - we get to play a surprising amount of new releases that way. seems like our friends are pretty productive these days.
* Circle bros - Vinegar (from the lp 'wade', Morc records, 2026)
* The Dengie Hundred with Gemma Blackshaw - Pool of tears (from the lp 'Days in pieces', Tain records, 2026)
* Annelies Monseré - Just Minimalize (for Julie) (from the 2lp 'Minimalize your reworks', Cortizona, 2026)
* Water is the sun - Charmed of lesser beasts (from the lp/tape 'Ritual fever', Trome/Tocco magico, 2026)
* Lowered - Distance flooded us (from the cd 'Music for empty rooms', Morc records, 2020)
* Clear horizon - For days (from the cd/lp 'Clear horizon', Kranky, 2003)
* Arab Strap - New birds (from the cd/2lp 'Philophobia', Chemikal underground, 1998)

new morc-release out today: 'Wade' by Circle Bros. an odd one to announce, since, well, it's me. but pretty proud of this one. more details etc: www.morctapes.com/circlebros-w... hope you'll enjoy the album!
see? it's me, with my new album. it's real.the obligatory promo text:

 In short

A rare solo album by morc-founder Wim Lecluyse. Semi-improvised songs built from fractured melodies, hushed sounds, repetitive patterns and details that are hard to place. The influence of 90s/00s lo-fi and post-folk comes through more clearly than on previous albums, both in the structures and in the sound palette. A gentle and focused record — i guess that's something we can all use right now. nice hq clear vinyl, and sleeves i screenprinted myself in two colours (five layers, if you want to know all about it)

Last week's episode of morcfm: morctapes.com/morcfm . A lot of new material this time. i specifically need to mention the opener: that's a track from the upcoming Circle Bros lp, which will be out later this month. hazy, gritty and slow: something we can all use every now and then.
we also shared the last preview of the -now passed- morc labelnight in Dranouter (what great evening!)- so: some words about the already broadly discussed Edgar Wappenhalter. And talking about Luster-predecessors: we recenly got hooked on Loobke's only album.

- as heard on campradio.bsky.socialbut: did i say: 'new releases"? seems like 2026 kicked off, with new material by Eternal Music Society (feat Andreas of Kroppskännedom), Amarante-Cerisier and ru.is. it's fair to say Primitive motion is still pretty new as well. the old favorites this time: Shellac and Grouper, whom we're both playing for the first time here. no idea why that took 61 episodes. the full tracklist:

* Circle Bros - Uncorked (from the lp 'Wade', Morc records, 2026)
* Edgar Wappenhalter - I travelled among unknown men (from the cdep 'split ep', Morc records, 2011)
* Primitive motion - My Obsidian (from the 2cd 'Lost Frequencies', Discreet Music, 2025)
* Loobke - Check-mate (from the dl 'Water & Boots', Sundays in spring, 2004)
* Shellac - Didn't we deserve a look at you the way you really are (from the cd/lp 'Terraform', Touch&go, 1998)
* Eternal Music Society - Plain (from the lp 'Eternal Music Society', Knotwilg Records, 2026)
* Amarante-Cerisier - L'Oubli (from the lp 'Amarante-Cerisier', Okraina Records, 2026)
* ru.is - A dream within a dream (from the dl 'A dream within a dream', self-released, 2026)
* Grouper - A light change (from the tape/cd 'split with inca ore', Acuarela, 2007/2008)

new pefkin lp! www.morctapes.com/pefkin-unfur... this is her first lp she did since moving from Scotland to England - she didn't trade in her unique blend of folk and violin based drones though! official release date for the lp is friday jan 30th - preorder is available now.
The familiar Pefkin elements are present: melodies that unfold patiently and graciously, with textures so vivid they feel almost tangible. Across six tracks, around forty minutes in total, the album is more focused than ever, with instruments and sounds flowing seamlessly into one another, leaving ample space for each melody to breathe. Pefkin creates her own microclimate, an environment both intimate and expansive.

morc 2025 recap: 3 lps, 2 concert evenings, 13 radio shows. a lot of plans, and many, many great encounters. details in the alt text per image :-) of course: many thanks to you, for showing appreciation, being kind, and just being interested. it means a lot. thanks.
it was a pretty busy year for a small organisation like ours.

- We did three mighty fine lp releases:

  * first the debut lp of kroppskännedom - gritty, repetitive, rough and fragile. oh, how we love this album. (and you too: we did a repress, and that's nearly gone as well)
  * in the summer, we welcomed Eva Fernández Suárez & Thomas barrière in the family, with their Majestic 'Adela' album. traditional and adventurous, a real treat.
  * in fall, we welcomed soccer Committee back, with one of her most ambitious works yet: 'Eye'. sparse yet generous restricted songs.

- two concert nights:

  * the summer started with Troth & Nein Rodere in Salvatore. a true celebrative evening
  * in the fall, Kroppskännedom came over to Belgium, and we matched him with Berlinde Deman for an evening of sounds to make your brain dance in all tempos and directions.

- 13 episodes of morcfm. 167 songs by 154 artists, released on 118 labels. that's a lot to listen back to.

- many plans for 2026 - including the already announced pefkin lp in january, and a biiiig event on sat april 4th and another lp around the same time. and more later.

- and mostly: we worked with a busload of great people. all the artists of course. but also some organisations (three:four for co-releasing Adela, Lise for co-hosting Troth & Nein Rodere, Salvatore & Le Trisseur for hosting us, stad Gent for lending us material, Maanstand for getting Andreas overhere, print studio 868 for letting us use their studio, 4K masterint for making the albums sound great) and volunteers for helping morc out in many, many ways. (Jochen, Annelies). * in fall, we welcomed soccer Committee back, with one of her most ambitious works yet: 'Eye'. sparse yet generous restricted songs.
  * first, we had the debut lp of kroppskännedom - gritty, repetitive, rough and fragile. oh, how we love this album. (and you too: we did a repress, and that's nearly gone as well)

quite a bit of electronic music in this episode (Young Gods, Soft Cell, ANBB), reissues of brigitte fontaine and Tiltmaster, and some 'pop' as well (Spatulas, Sarah Mary Chadwick, and Rowland s howard). also: dulcimers! dorothy carter, and singing nuns at the sacré coeur with heavenly arrangements

morcfm episode 56 is online. We've probably been overthinking this episode: you'll hear a lot of songs/artists that we've been thinking of playing for a bit longer, but for some reason we never did. so this episode is probably a bit more eclectic than usual. --> www.morctapes.com/morcfm

new episode of morcfm, episode 55, up for your enjoyment over at www.morctapes.com/morcfm. including the sweet sounds of ao @jessicabailiff.bsky.social , and an announcement for a show that already happened by now. most importantly: an unreleased puddle parade track! thanks for listening.
We didn't play that much pop music in the most recent episodes. to make up for that: we're starting of with some poptunes, the rest of the episode is a bit more all over the place. eg: we tested our new tapedeck with a spare copy of an old gang wizard release that we accidentally got hold of. dead c worship at its best. we don't know why we never played our favorite The Debts song before, so we rectified that.
other recent releases we're highlighting: burger service, juho toivonen, and miradasvacas. and we're a bit late in picking up the latest releases by benjamin franklin and goldblum, but we're glad we did.
unreleased track: there's part of a looooong unreleased puddle parade track in here as well. it took ellen long to finish, so no doubt you're excited to finally hear it.records, tapes, cd's, old and new: we like all of them. (mp3's not pictured)1. Anna Domino - Land of my dreams (from the lp/2xcd 'East and West', les disques du crepuscule, 1984/2020)
2. Flaming tunes - Restless mind (from the lp 'Flaming Tunes', Superior Viaduct, 1985)
3. Burger Service - Oude stad (from the tape 'Hart voor de zaak', RDSR, 2025)
4. Kroppskännedom - Mitt Extatiska Förakt (from the lp 'Kroppskännedom', Morc records, 2025)
5. Gang Wizard - --------- (from the tape 'Meet me at merkato', Morc records, 2001)
6. Benjamin Franklin - The river (from the tape 'Aventures', Frissons Cassettes, 2024)
7. Juho Toivonen - Kaste Maalasi Sydaämen (from the lp 'Lapsikuninkaan Fanfaari', Discreet music, 2025)
8. Miradasvacas - St. Alban (from the lp 'En perpetua', South of north, 2025)
9. The Puddle Parade - Forust (edit) (unreleased)

soccer Committee has a new album out today- with 'Eye', Mariska gifted us her most layered work yet, whilst keeping true to her spartan sound. high quality German vinyl, full colour sleeve with a downloadcoupon. for sale for 18 euro + shipping. --> more info/images: www.morctapes.com/eye.html
Mariska Baars, aka soccer Committee is a force to be reckoned with: whoever heard one of her albums, or was lucky enough to see her live, knows that no one masters the art of peeling away every unnecessary layer of a song like she does. From the very first notes of 'Eye, it’s clear that Baars is at the peak of her powers. The most traditional songs here remind us why we fell for her songwriting in the first place: they’re delicately strong and quietly fierce. Other pieces showcase her mastery in manipulating texture and silence - even more than ever. Throughout 'Eye', she's evoking an atmosphere so hushed you lean in, afraid to miss a single detail. Baars weaves it all together in a way that only she can, crafting a listening experience that holds you in its spell from start to finish.Mariska Baars, aka soccer Committee is a force to be reckoned with: whoever heard one of her albums, or was lucky enough to see her live, knows that no one masters the art of peeling away every unnecessary layer of a song like she does. i've said it before, and i'll say it again: the most fun radioshows to make are the ones i which i can announce something. and we have two things to announce here on morcfm! --> listen via www.morctapes.com/morcfm
first, there's the soccer Committee lp 'eye' coming up next week. you'll hear 'pretty little foxes' as the starter of this episode. already one of my very favorite soccer Committee tracks. And we have an upcoming show to announce: Kroppskännedom is coming to belgium for the first time, incl. a show in Ghent on october 17th. yes! to top it off: Berlinde Deman wil be playing that evening too. not suprisingly: we played her music here on morcfm before.

Plenty of other new and old favorites in this episode as well though. we're playing a few things related to our trip to Wales this summer, fill in a (huge!) gap in our Roy Montgomery collection, notice that you really can never say 'now i have enough Brannten Schnüre', and get excited about Frankie Traandruppel's new lp. and we say some nice things about great recordstores. probably one of the more coherent editions of morcfm, really.* soccer Committee - Pretty little foxes (from the lp 'Eye', Morc records, 2025)
* Berlinde Deman - Hungry Mouth tree (from the dl 'Hungry mouth tree', Hinah, 2020)
* Kroppskännedom - Sluta (from the lp 'Kroppskännedom', Morc records, 2025)
* Milkweed - The tree as a kinship symbol (from the tape 'Folklore 1979', self-released, 2024)
* Suzanne Vega - Left of center (from the cd 'Retrospective: the best of', A&M, 1986/2003)
* Six organs of admittance - Blue sun chiming (from the cd 'Dust & Chimes', Holy mountain, 1999/2000)
* Roy Montgomery - Some footage of dancing that no-one else saw (from the 2lp 'Camera Melancholia', Grapefruit, 2022)
* Treasury of puppies - Sapfo livin (from the lp 'Treasury of puppies', Digital Regress, 2020/2022)
* Nostalgie Eternelle - A victory smile (from the lp 'at that time', Infinite expanse, 1989/2025)
* Frankie Traandruppel - Crying shame (from the lp 'Translation is key', Singularity records/Good times rock n roll club, 2025)
* Kyra - Die wonderlijke dag (from the lp 'Here i am, i always am', Damaged goods, 1998/2023)
* Balint Brösel & Brannten Schnüre - Disco (from the lp 'Gespensterland', Bureau B, 2023)
* Arianne Churchman & Benedict Drew - Portal emerges to a world reversed (from the lp 'The tree of the left hand', Folklore, 2025)

mark oct 17th in your agenda and book a trip to Ghent. we're setting up a show of Kroppskännedom and Berlinde Deman. Info/reservations: www.morctaped.com/live
Andreas is doing his first Kroppskannedom-shows outside of Sweden, and of course Ghent is a stop. we've put out his debut lp earlier this year: slow, repetitive songs that bring a vague rock-ish approach to the abstract soundcollages that he's an expert in creating. hearing=believing.

And Berlinde brings her even more ambientesque melodies, performed on serpent (an ancestor of the tuba) and effects. moody, trippy and slow - she's releasing her solo cd shortly after the show, so here's a chance to get a sneak preview.

the past weeks, we ran out of quite a few titles. so we did an effort, and managed to restock a handful of copies - new and unplayed, in perfect condition. 1-4 copies of each, so i'm only putting these up on bandcamp. first come, first served. --> morctapes.bandcamp.com/merch
- Roxane Métayer: Éclipse des ocelles
- Roxane Métayer/Pefkin: split lp
- Linus Vandewolken: Oude Geuze uit Niemandaal
- Edgar Wappenhalter: IJsschots Veenlaag Mist

18 euro each, or pick 3 lps for 50 euro. (yes, it's possible to combine these with the upcoming soccer Committee lp, which i fully recommend!)

i noticed that i havent been playing a lot of 'rock' in the past few episodes, so we're making that up here with a few stone cold classics - so, mostly 'older things' here - only a handful of tracks from after 2020.

another summer episode of morcfm - due to deadlines, we had to record this before leaving on a holiday, and had to 'rush' it a little. so: less talking here - just a bit in the beginning, and more at the end.
