"Yeah. It's just nice to hear someone remembers how awful it was because Zoro's being very... forgiving about the whole thing," Sanji sighs, the gesture curbing his frayed nerves. "We got into a fight about him literally hours before and this is how he reacts. It's like he's trying to piss me off."
Nami hums a noncommittal note, and her hand retreats back to the handle of her mug. "That seems... unlike him. Trying to piss you off, sure, but this? Wait," her eyes narrow in contemplation. "How bad was this fight, exactly?"
The glint in Nami's scrutinizing gaze strikes an unsettling chord. It seems that the spotlight's shifting against his will. Sanji knows that look, and it means he'll have to tread carefully if he wants to keep the attention away from him.
"Not the worst, but also not... the best," he hedges warily, careful in his attempt to mince words. Casting his eyes towards his mug, he quietly adds, "I happened to see that Law was texting him.
"Happened to, huh," Nami says, sitting back in her seat, raising her cup to her lips.
She aims a pointed look across the table. "Spill it, Sanji."
Damnit. "He left it on the fucking counter! I thought it was one of you guys or something-who the hell else does he talk to," he somewhat frantically amends.
"Then he got all defensive when I called him out on it."

Nami is silent for a beat, manicured nails drumming against the side of her cup. She opens her mouth, then closes it. Opens it again. "Anyone with a working memory and a brain would be wary of Zoro going back to the well, but not only is it different coming from you, Sanji, I think the overall effect is different for you." She pauses, takes a slow sip of her coffee before setting it back down again. "I'm sorry to say, but this has pact written all over it."
Sanji flushes, then promptly chokes on his coffee.
It was only a matter of time until she pulled that card. Honestly, it's his fault that he didn't see it coming. "It—" he coughs again, thumping his chest in an effort to clear his throat so he can clear his fucking name. "It has nothing to do with-with that."
That being the drunken agreement he and Zoro made on the lawn of some fraternity house party junior year. Where it should have stayed, if not for the one too many shots of tequila in his system that clearly had other ideas on their ride home.
"Psst—guess what happened t'night," his own slurred attempt at whispering echoes in his ears. Half-slumped against the center console and peering up at Nami's skeptical face; bathed in a red glow, humoring him while she waited for the light to change. A fit of giggles had tumbled from his lips as he confessed, "If Zoro'n I're still single when we re thirty, we—we promised that we'd say fuck it 'n date each other."

His neck still burns from the memory of it, and he hasn't picked up tequila since.
Because despite his valiant attempts to forget, Nami never did. With how much she delights in reminding him, he probably never will.

Sanji yells to Zoro, looking angry as hell; "YOU STUPID MOLDY BREAD!! You wasted two fucking hours picking poisonous mushrooms!! I fucking showed you what to pick!" END. 🍄‍🟫✨(and lastly a little Finnish pun, muhehe)
