Ubuntu now has a built-in task manager UX via the Resources app that reminds me of what I loved about Process Explorer on Windows back in 2001 (thanks, @markrussinovich.bsky.social !); especially the designs that evolved into the Performance tab in Windows 8 and later versions of Task Manager.

#VideoGameBacklog American Fugitive (PC, 2019) is an open-world, top-down action game from @fallentreegames.bsky.social with decent graphics and gameplay. You’re an innocent fugitive tracking your father’s killer while sneaking around and becoming less innocent as you go, GTA-style. #indiegames

#VideoGameBacklog "Dungeons 2" (PC, 2015) is spiritually Dungeon Keeper. The omniscient narrator is fun & visuals are good. The UX didn't click right away but it's still great to see this concept/genre continue. Sequels continue, thanks to @kalypsomedia.bsky.social! #indiegames

#VideoGameBacklog "A Normal Lost Phone" (PC, 2017) is an interesting data forensics game where you, a person who found a phone, tries to piece together what happened to the original owner. It takes place entirely on the person's phone with all the data since they got it. #indiegames

#VideoGameBacklog "Ape Out" (PC, 2019) is a wild top-down smash-em-up, pitting an orange gorilla against armed security. Art & music are fresh & fun. Dark corridors and tight view angles make it particularly challenging. Thanks @gcuzzillo.bsky.social! #indiegame

#VideoGameBacklog Before 2077 there was "Anachronox" (PC, 2001) from Ion Storm. A #cyberpunk role-playing game with over-the-shoulder wandering & 3rd-person, turn-based fighting. It has a great story and perfectly blocky 3D models. Definitely a gem you should search your library for. #retrogames

Semisolid platforms are not negligible to implement. Working on allowing characters to walk & jump through, then land & stay on top. The challenge is compounded when there are multiple levels of platforms, standing on one and trying to walk through a slightly higher one. #indiedev #gamedev #godot

#VideoGameBacklog "Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore" (Switch, 2024) is an amazing homage and spiritual successor to the awful CD-I Zelda games. The animation, voice, and characters are as bad as they should be, but the game is not just playable...it's fun! Thanks @seth.games & @limitedrungames.com!
