@wtyppod.bsky.social Hey, y'all ever gonna get up-to-date with the God Damn News? So much shit is happening so fast, I can't use y'all as my primary news outlet anymore.

I've dedicated pretty much half my life to internet culture. Problem I see these days is a buncha "tourists" barging into communities and raising a fuss over nothing.

Absolutely beautiful art. I love the bold colors and curving lines. You've got a lot of talent. #vocaloid

You've got a pretty face. Too bad it ain't real.

Lukewarm take: Tropes are not bad. Some familiar assumptions is sometimes necessary superstructure for innovation. Mild take: Lampshading is detrimental when it undermines the verisimilitude of a work.

I will say, it's been rather fascinating seeing my old bestie turn into a hard-right conspiritard /pol/ack. Turns out, that person yelling at you is a hyper-anxious failure at life. A mountain of unfinished projects and unfulfilled dreams. #politics #friends #psychology

People think I'm joking when I mention my incest kink. Nah sis, I'm all about that forbidden love.

Discord does blow, tbh. I wish we could go back to forums. But this is functionally the best we got.

I've learned through hardship, that sometimes people are set on seeing you in the worst light possible. Recently I lost a decade-long friendship, because they found me boring. But when I shared the awesome stuff I was actually doing, they pulled back, and ripped into me for my constant curiosity.

popular vids with 5k to even zero views. This has led to a burgeoning indie music community, which was how I found this incredible Vocaloid chiptune punk rock piece. You might find good stuff yourself. youtu.be/FVpo-_0Xok4

It's... honestly a hugely diverse place. Such that I'd recommend making a burner handle, just to discover new stuff. The Algorithm craves watch time, and people need noise for while they're eating or gaming. So long-form essays are a mainstay. But it also purposely recommends less (1/2)

Any authors have experience transitioning from internet RP to writing? AI roleplays have helped me get the basics down, and even inspired me, but I'm having trouble envisioning a longer story with nuanced characters. Any tips or reading recs would be much-appreciated. #writing #rp

I'm moreso annoyed by the hundreds of 3-hour-long nothingburger video essays that sometimes clog my YouTube reccs. It's even worse with Halo.

Follow some feeds, browse the Discover tab, throw in a trendy hashtag or two. And be a cool guy, but I'm sure you've got that.

AI is a fun toy. I doubt it's the future, though.

The only thing that kept me offa Tumblr is the NSFW ban. Did they finally lift that?

Microsoft never misses a chance to miss a chance. Their mishandling of Xbox, after the glory-days of the 360, is honestly baffling.

Watch watching "Welcome to the NHK" with the boywife last night. Came across one of the side characters saying something to Satou, along the lines of "If you aren't willing to expose your art to others for critique, you will never grow as a creative". Gotta say, that cut kinda deep for me rn.

Found some lovely art on my commute today. I'm especially fond of her vivid coloring. You can tell it was made with care.

I've been trying to get back into writing for a while. No plans for books, but it's a great way of expressing yourself. What would you say your favorite kind of stories are?

Backychan @moonlightguardian.bsky.social · 14/11/2024

You've got quite the eclectic style. I especially like the shading on the top right pic. Could I ask what pen tablet you use? I was hoping to start sketching, myself.

Just find a wall outlet, heh. Though I guess it's more relevant when you're not some shut-in e-girl like myself.

I sometimes feel as if fiction is more real than real-life. Fiction at least tends to make sense.
