😤 the drawing tablet was so much easier to render but I'm damn proud of the rendering on the controller bumpers #live2d #controllertoggle

🫠 drawing game controllers is hard. At the same time the render process is fun to watch come together. I just need to finish up the hand panels then I can start working on a drawing tablet too.

I'm also extremely hypermobile in most of my joints... I tried to pull back the amount of flexibility so it looks more "normal" ? I wonder if it even matters if animation is meant to be exaggerated anyway? #eds #hypermobile

💅 #live2d #handrig Not 100% done. And it will not be true hand tracking... I worry it will bulk up the file size if I want to do it. For now I want to add some simple hand gesture toggles <3

👁️👁️ I'm alive. Just stuck in organizational hell. Jkjkjk I added the hairstyles I rendered... which meant going back and adjusting some parameters. I still need to figure out how to have the horns interact with the new hair/fringe.

👀 SMALLER UPDATE This method also allows you to add more options later! Forgot to mention that it future proofs for any content updates. Maybe this can also be used for those who do texture repaints? I have not dabbled in that, so if anyone who does wants to chime in let me know! #live2d

This same method can be used for different clothing/tails/ect. It DOES NOT need keyframes on the final slider. The blend shape limits handle the "keyframes" on the back end. Drop any questions! I don't mind putting together a longer video of how it works. I still have more hair to rig. :3

UPDATE! A small example of how to set up customizer sliders. For this hair slider: Each hair type is set to an independent on/off switch (blend shape param) Default 1 = "on" and a limit is set on the slider. The slider has a max of 9 and a min of 0. One whole number per limit is needed. #live2d

Worked through some hair testing 👀 I am now able to add more hair tip styles other than wavy and straight. Working on how to implement split hair color… and a few more hair options that will stay secret for now. Ideally the hair will be mix and match like the clothing ~

Took a bit of time and thinking, but I think I was able to make a "leg floating" toggle. So the model looks like it's slightly floating. If I'm honest, I'm procrastinating rigging hands TuT I sketched out some props to add. Let's see ~

vtube models really are a "trust the process" type of project... 🫠 Every time I finish a good chunk, I look back at the in-between parts where things start to look awkward, and I remind myself that this isn't meant to be done in one night. Wavy hair is now rigged ^^;

I know for the range of movement that I want I'll need a decent amount of pieces with the rendering/shading on a completely separate layer with masking. I've seen some cool tricks with reverse masking for the hair roots, but it increases the number of layers... which means bigger file sizes

Ideally, I'll work my way up to mimicking better 3D visuals in L2d... I love 3d models, but I also love the process in L2d. It just makes more sense in my lil bat brain LOL 🦇 For now, I need some time to think through how to break down hair parts specifically for better customization👀;;
