How is September already over? We didn't want to leave this month without at LEAST one more visit with Frederick! While he's not be old enough to go on grand adventures yet, he might tower above everyone one day! #3dprinting #noai #art #tabletopgames #insect

The painting continues! This time it's Camas the Quickstrike! After our main two heroes, we felt it was appropriate to try something a bit more vibrant and sleeker, Camas was the obvious choice! Links to the STLs in Bio! #3dprinting #noai #art #tabletopgames #insect

Just wanted to follow up this post with an update and a huge thank you to everyone! Found out I live 5 mins away from GW shop and introduced myself. Honestly good to know there's a difference between a Game Night and Hobby Night, I swear half the battle is just knowing the questions to ask haha! Thank you! And good point about local politics, it's hard to know what kind of environment you've just stepped into.

010

Moonbird Workshop @moonbirdworkshop.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

I assume that the lore also allows for a blurring of faction lines when facing someone using the same faction?

110

Moonbird Workshop @moonbirdworkshop.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

Oh wow! Thank you for all of this info! It all feels a bit overwhelming right now haha, but this definitely puts it into perspective. I love that the game can go as shallow or deep as you want it to.

210

Moonbird Workshop @moonbirdworkshop.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

What you're saying is DON'T try and collect everything, stay in your faction once you've found a favorite haha! Are there any faction stigmas that are overblown? I mainly just know Orks and Space Marines from cultural osmosis

100

Moonbird Workshop @moonbirdworkshop.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

Thank you for the insight! Yeah I'm very susceptible to Hobby debt, so this is a good reminder. What does a causal pick up game look like? I guess I should start by just going to my LGS and just watching. I feel like what ends up on YouTube is mainly tourny play. And absolutely, it's all for fun!

110

Moonbird Workshop @moonbirdworkshop.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

That's great advice! I got into a bad habit with my Gunpla backlog doing exactly that, this is freeing twofold! I do really like the community aspect of this as well.

120

Moonbird Workshop @moonbirdworkshop.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

Oh! That's a great point! The Kill teams also seemed like a relatively low price point by comparison. That's wild about the Meta chasing, I'm so used to MTG situations where you can adapt to the meta within a day. That's hilarious that meta chasing is hamstrung by painting and construction!

Moonbird Workshop @moonbirdworkshop.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

I couldn't believe it, I had heard it was bad but taking it apart and seeing it all unfold... Oh my god haha if you've not picked up a Hoopat I'd HIGHLY recommend it

While she would never dare to enter the city herself, she drifts her enchanting songs over the walls in the hopes someone might hear it and become curious about her in turn. While some might value their privacy and solitude, this is not the case for this Tidemaw. #TableTopGames #Art

Serenia is a bit of an exception to her brothers and sisters. She is endlessly curious about her Anthrofolk neighbors just outside the shores of her pond and wandering the streets of Wonderstone City.

110

Moonbird Workshop @moonbirdworkshop.bsky.social · 04/05/2026

While most Anthrofolk tend not to predate each other, there have been cases where it's been known to happen. These Anthrofolk usually don't congregate in towns or cities but prefer to keep to themselves in the wilds, hidden away from all the hustle and bustle of the tasty snacks- other Arthrofolk.
