So those are my main big goals in the coming years! I'll probs continue to be p inactive online, tho I’m thinking about making posts that document bits of the process🤔 since those can be kinda fun. But yeah, thank you so much for the patience, hopefully the they will be enjoyable to peek at! ;v;

After that, I'll be finishing these :D -Dragons in the Pacific Northwest (art book) -The Messenger (comic?) which yeah, I'll talk about more after I finish the above book first ;v;

Title page reading "Dragons in the Pacific Northwest by Indui." There's a scene of a snowy mountain behind fields of wildflowers, dense pine forest, and a clear lake. A red serpent/dragon wraps around in a decorative border.

An ink illustration with multiple pieces. On top: a boy and a dragonbird read a map. In the middle: Two statues guard a scene of desolate earth and distant blue mountains, with a passage reading: it's been 100 years since the war of Godfire finally came to an end. Though the feuding empires have long since collapsed, still nothing lives nor grows on the Scars." On the bottom: a boy wanders through a colorfully painted village.

I decided it would be more fun to turn it into a fully-fledged story (oops) :D My goal for the overall vibe is-- taking Romanticism's big lovely scenes of melancholy beauty + putting characters in there to wander about who have fun/strange adventures and observations :)

rough sketches of 3 characters: an elf botanist, someone very tall in full armor, and a small curled up dragon

a red dragon peeks mischievously through a hollowed out window of a ruined cathedral

As some might remember, I made a ton of fantasy art inspired by the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich back in 2024. At first I was just going to make a lil zine that compiled them together, with each piece accompanied by a vignette that hinted at a larger story. But ~1 year ago, [cont]

two people sit at a precipice to watch white dragons dancing among beautiful white cliffs.

Dusk. an unusual dragon-like creature sits regally on stone ruins. Several sleek white birds flutter about.

A shepherd leads sheep through yellow fields, past a very ruined tower. Inside, a golden tree sprouts.

Sorry I'm much less active these days, because I'm focusing on some bigger art book projects :") I'll share a bit about them here with portfolio day!! CURRENTLY FINISHING!!: -The Botanist, the Thief, and the Dragon

In the middle of a vast green field, a red dragon watches over a flock of sheep. The company takes a break beside a huge oak tree and a shimmering pond.

#portfolioday :3 Heya I’m indui! I love creating fantasy art, especially in the theme of gardens/plants, dragons, kitties, and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

a black cat stands in a brick alleyway overgrown with wildflowers. It looks up curiously.

A chubby orange cat carefully steps down a bright, peaceful garden path

a small white dragon lies beneath crumbling gray ruins and a dark pine forest. the moon shines between the pine needles.

a white serpent's body weaves through a manicured garden full of mysterious statues. his face is hidden on the other side of a hedge. A single feathered wing rises from behind as well.

this piece has been my desktop bg for years and I'm still not tired of it. i look at it and think about: the relationship between Le Guin and her Earthsea books; the relationship between Miyazaki and his son while this movie was being made; the impression this movie had on all those members, (1/2)

So I'm happy I got around to finishing it :") feel free to check it if you want! ko-fi.com/s/fef3025bcd The new expac was announced and it got me excited + made me remember all these pages i made back in the day ;v;

So another lil project I worked on semi-recently was an XIV zine!!! A compilation of all the journal-sketchpages I'd made, for the misc side-adventures I'd gone on after finishing the Main Story. Job Quests, Deep Dungeons,... that sort of thing

an ink journal sketchpage for the game FFXIV. it's collaged with: scenic shots of a house in a large tree, an enormous castle floating in the sea, and an intimidating purple dragon.

a scene with an elf holding a lantern and her horned friend holding an ax. Behind them is an intricate wooden fortress tucked away in the middle of the woods

there are two characters riding chocobos in the top half of the sketchpage. On the bottom is a street scene of a colorful city likely based on India's architecture

an ink journal sketchpage for the game FFXIV. it's collaged with: an elf and chocobo resting in the dappled light of grass; exploration through water-filled ruins; campsites in the middle of a foggy forest.

The Gardener. Second of two pieces I had the chance to make for Swords without Master - Fugitives of the Shattered Menagerie!

When you’re sitting behind a stall while selling your work at an art event, you just wanna do stuff with your hands in the downtime…. Here’s a bunch of doodle pages from two events I was at recently lol :D

a small journal page filled with ink drawings of the artists' view behind their art stall. there's a floral tablecloth, a piece of wood used as a stand, and several zines.

As yall might’ve seen, I participated in the Drawtober challenge this year: ~1 illustration per week following a set of spooky-fantasy prompts. This was my storybook take on the challenge! I compiled the illustrations into a free/pwyw digital zine! Feel free to check it out :) #artshop

A zine cover with an illustration of a golden key in the shape of a winged dragon, caught in a strip of golden sunlight. The title is "Oct 1 - Oct 31, By Indui"

A red dragon stands in the shadow of medieval ruins. Outside is brimming light in an overgrown garden strewn with bones.

Beneath dark towering pine trees, a graceful, glowing white dragon sits upon moonlit castle ruins. The reflection in the lake shows an enormous gothic castle.

From the viewpoint of within a ruined castle's windows into its bright green courtyard: a black dragon stands atop the corpse of a smaller red dragon.

Friedrich battled with a lot of grief in his life, and I was in the middle of coming to terms with many tragic events as well. Making these pieces was a lovely way to understand someone from 200 years ago as well as myself, and reignite some inspiration to draw again.

I could refamiliarize myself with some art fundamentals (like composition, values etc), while also adding some fun personal details to help them to resonate with me even more. Before I knew it, I’d made nearly a dozen studies, all the while reading about his life.

One day, while flipping through a Friedrich art book, I couldn’t stop imagining fantasy creatures basking in the beautiful ruins he’d sketched, or flying across the vast skies he’d painted. I realized it would be fun to study some of these classic pieces - (cont)

Ink studies I made based on the paintings of Caspar David Freidrich (1774-1840). I started these inks back in 2023; it'd been several years since I'd drawn regularly, and I was feeling stuck as to how I could get back into the swing of creating. (cont)
