Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 04/08/2026😭 Yeah I realize I messed up the main part of my reply lol thankfully I included the video. 001
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 04/08/2026They still do, at least Nintendo of America does. If you watch a UK Nintendo Direct you'll see that they just say "game" instead of "the [game] game" like in the US. Which means that they make the narrator record two versions of the same line every time he mentions the name of a Nintendo game. 241047193
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Seems consistent with what the support site says: "An internet connection is only required when you launch the game for the first time. After this, the game can be started even without an internet connection." en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/... 050
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 24/06/2026[Person who was never going to buy the game]: Yeah, I'm boycotting this game :/ 0140
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 08/06/2026I feel like that likely means they're not actually a big deal and will just be an update for the NSO points systems (instead of telling you to launch a game they'll have these more precise goals, maybe for more points in return). Unless I'm missing what the scope of those actually is? 100
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 18/04/2026Core concept so bad it made Miyamoto have the biggest failure of his career 000
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 25/03/2026In Europe and Japan there's a €10 / ¥1,000 physical tax (on top of the standard price) so this is definitely what's happening in the US too. They're just being sneaky by starting with Yoshi which is their first €60 games on Switch 2. 001
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 21/02/2026They're better positioned to keep Windows as the main PC operating system, but that's all. All the efforts from the Xbox division over the years were for nothing in a way. No console ecosystem and no Microsoft Store on PC to get 30% from games/DLCs purchases They're just guaranteeing the status quo 000
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 08/02/2026They could still retroactively slightly improve some things. First thing that comes to mind is letting publishers link a Switch 1 game with its Switch 2 counterpart because with the way things are presented on the eShop I wouldn't be surprised if some people bought a wrong version by accident. 110
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 10/12/2025I feel like the Sakamoto-led games are so much more interesting. Even when he misses you can feel the intention and see a concept fully executed. Whereas the Prime games past the 1st one try to repeat the formula with a twist but it often ends up feeling pretty thoughtless. 120
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 16/11/2025You're missing the main puzzle piece which is that Metroid and Prime are basically two different series with completely different producers. Sakamoto (2D & Other M) likes the Chozo stuff and Adam (kinda backfired with Other M though), whereas Tanabe (Prime) prefers the Federation and hunters side. 010
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 16/11/2025Ironically, what people are disliking right now is something the producer of the Prime games (since the first one) said he wanted to do in interviews as old as 2015. 020
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 14/05/2025Apparently games themselves can still assign them to actions: www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/04...nintendolife.comSwitch 2 Devs May Assign Specific Inputs To Pro Controller's Back ButtonsIs it worth the hassle, though? 110
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 23/04/2025The fact that Nintendo wants games to run directly from the card instead of installing the data to the internal storage is both a blessing and a curse. 020
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 17/01/2025There's also a standardization of games since the PS3/4 gen. Since budgets/dev times are taking longer publishers can no longer make exclusive games using a new gimmick Nintendo would have centered their new console around. For unique control schemes people'll have to look at stuff like the Playdate 000
Maxime @monogon.bsky.social · 26/12/2024For what it's worth I don't think anyone has the *exact* image of the full logo, but in typography and design things don't have to be mathematically aligned/symmetrical to be visually pleasing. Best relevant example would be to let you measure in the current Switch logo each of the stylized joy-cons 010
