Cheers to Sandi Rusch on "Charms & Chapters," the sequel she never planned to write. Working on this meant a lot to me because she was gently given to me after her previous editor, our beloved mutual friend @NikkiBusch, passed away. I loved helping Sandi make it “a better book,” as she said.
The cover of the book "Charms & Chapters" by Alexandra Rusch, with hand-drawn designs of hearts and leaves and a row of homes and shops in colorful illustration. End of description.

One of the most heartfelt memoirs I’ve edited recently was "The Spirits Called My Name." Roberta Rosnik entrusted me with her story—of a surprising discovery of her heritage—that draws you in, into both her mind and an Indigenous community that few get to see. #memoirmonday #amediting #editingmemoir
A white woman with brown hair, freckles and glasses holds the book “The Spirits Called My Name” on a brown background with green writing that reads “I had the opportunity to work with Barbie Halaby when I enlisted her services as a line editor for my memoir, The Spirits Called My Name. The quality of her work was outstanding, and I was more than satisfied with her suggestions and revisions. I would recommend Barbie to anyone who is interested in retaining a highly competent editor.”

I can’t say enough about my amazing line editing client Jennifer Lauer and The Girl in the Zoo. To see how an #indieauthor shoots up the charts, follow her. And read her awesome novel: all the current relevance of AI and still an intensely human touch. thegirlinthezoo.com #fictionfriday #amediting
