John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Then next year Topps issues this card. Seems familiar 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Nah, it's a free market. I wasn't upset when Looie and Boomer went Pinstripe, they missed the big paydays. Even Jacoby got a bunch of money from the Evil Empire that the Sox couldn't match. But Damon, Boggs and Clemens are another class, oh and without class. 110
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Roger was my favorite player during his time with the team. And I have lived in Fort Myers since 95, and as a long distance fan, I never got that he embraced the Sox nation nor did he apologize for the steroids. Good for him with his involvement, but there are too many things I can't absolve. TRUMP 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Everything. I am just mad that he was there. When he was on the Jays, I rooted for him, because I thought the Sox jerked him around. He was a Yankee during the height of the rivalry. 210
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 13/10/2026No. Don't give out his number and that's it. There are too many things to ignore. Mindy, Steroids, Yankees, Trump and where many ex players truly enjoy the Red Sox Nation, post career, he could care less. Great pitcher, bad man. 230
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 11/10/2026And at almost the same time, the Bruins and Red Sox management sucked bad as did the late 70s celtics. We literally had the worst of the worst with KFC Brown, Jacobs, Sullivans/Liam and the post Yawkey brain rot. 000
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 11/10/2026The narrative of the Pats Sucked during the Pat Patriot era is misleading, I have been a fan since 1972 and the issue wasn't talent, it was management. The 76 to 80 teams were great, but they screwed the coach, Hannah and Grey. The 82 to 88 were good. 89 thru Bledsoe. Yeah we sucked and Mgmt sucked 200
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 09/10/2026We had a really good Bullpen this year. But my god, Stanley, Clear and Burgmier ate up inning and wins that year. And look at all the young pitching talent, with Maga Clemens around the corner. 010
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 03/10/2026He was Dave Roberts before Dave Roberts. Too bad he didn't get his proper due. 011
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 02/10/2026It brings back bad memories of 1981 when we lost Lynn, Pudge and Rooster. . Or now with Sale, Mookie and Xander still in the Playoffs. 000
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I never trust the times. Plus, unfortunately, Biden was mentally losing it. He should have stepped away, and let a primary decide. 000

John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 15/09/2026The most underrated. His outstanding defense at the corners, was only surpassed by Boomer. 000
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 06/09/2026RIP. I was at game 3 of the 88 streak with my pregnant wife on a very warm day. We were down and kept coming back and of all people Kevin Romine hits his only home run of the year as a walk off. This year's team reminds me of that year. Hopefully we end up better and win it for Walpole Joe 000
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I know. But that year was insane for Looie. Highly underrated. 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 03/09/2026I remember hearing this song on the BBC Show Butterflies in the early eighties. It took me 30 plus years later to find out Dolly wrote it. Even better, the cover is sung by Claire Torrey the singer on Pink Floyd's Great Gig in The Sky. youtu.be/dUmqSUx8W8Y?...youtu.beButterflies (Titles)YouTube video by mark1dart 030
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Luis Tiant had 35 games in 1972 with 1 run or less. Of course he started the season a reliever and then threw 6 shut outs in 9 games. 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Agreed. I thought Butch was, but surprisingly never in the 9th spot as DH. At that time, whoever took his place at third was the worst hitter in that game, Brohamer, Duffy or Bailey. 000
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 21/08/2026I could have sworn, Butch did it back in the day, but when he did DH, Gerbil, moved him up to 7 almost all the time. Makes sense. 200
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 03/08/2026The A's for 10 hrs have a bunch off the top of my head starting with Coco Crisp. youtu.be/i0n4ihd492Y?...youtu.beCoco Crisp and James Shields ignite brawl in BostonYouTube video by MLB 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 06/07/2026I would've gone with an Original Pilot, Marty Patton, otherwise no problem. 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Let me get this straight. JB without JT most of the season vs JT with PG for a whole season, with Robinson and Conley, and we would be worse. I prefer to have JB and JB together, but barring a major injury, they will be fine. The big mistake was trading him to the Sixers. 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Here is the greatest what if right now. If Tatum plays game 7 vs Sixers and we win. Then we have a tough battle against NY and lose in 6 or 7, or win... Anyways, if Tatum is 100% and George doesn't drop off from current level, I think we will win about it the same as this year. still don't like it 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Well, we had a fun run. I think we will still win about 50 and win a round in the playoffs, but I am not happy. But look we lost Brady and got back to the SB, it took a while. 010
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 18/06/2026I have lived in Florida for 30 years, and our company had a branch in Chicago. Somehow I celebrated 3 of the greatest Boston moments while on a work trip, 2011 Bruins win, 2013 Bruins comeback vs Toronto and this, which almost got me fired since I was extremely hung over and overslept the next day. 010
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 15/06/2026But everything goes in phases. Once the Orange one is gone, the yahoos will stop supporting the Republicans blindly. This is populism 101. 110
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 02/06/2026And Mo and Valentin from Seton Hall. That 1998 team had all four. 010
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 29/05/2026I was a senior working in a pizza parlor delivering pizzas, in Nj. I lucked out and got to see it live on a tiny black and white TV with rabbit ears. 010
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 29/05/2026It's like Reggie Lewis and Lenny Bias. If he didn't get hit, probably ends up with 450 to 500 Hrs. It was the relative dead ball era and 30 was pretty much average. It's a shame, but in today's metrics, he struck out too much and didn't walk. 010
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 28/05/2026Rick Wise pitched a no hitter and hit 2 HR in 1971. 000
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 27/05/2026Ditto. I was living in NJ that season, my dad was able to get a box at yankee stadium for 6 of us via Nabisco. Middle game of a 3 game series, last time in NY... He doesn't play. 010
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 19/05/2026I love Big Papi, but I would go with the late Great Looie. 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Seconds later I see Russell walking, and went up to him and said how big a fan my father was and shook his hand. In less than a Minute I had been touched by 3 of the best all time players on the planet. 100
John McDonald @mongohardigan.bsky.social · 15/05/2026I can agree. But people are beginning to forget what a force he could be. In 1997, Barkley had a golf tourney. During the putting contest, I drunkenly sank a 30 foot putt on the first hole. Charles high fives me, and I feel a tap on my shoulder, Moses asks could he take my place. Go ahead Moses. 100
