Kid: Is that how you see the mechas? No wonder you don't like being around Raphael.

finally did the second page of this #mecha comic i started a few months ago

Sledge and The Kid walk down a set of stairs in a mecha hangar, with mechas on either side of them. Sledge is a grizzled man in his mid-fifties wearing a shirt and vest; The Kid is a young teen wearing a checkered flannel.

Sledge: Y'know, kid, if you're looking to be alone, you can always go to your room. You don't need to hide out in the cockpit of your literal weapon of war.

The Kid: Is that how you see the mechas? No wonder you don't like being around Raphael.

Sledge: I respect Raph. And I can handle it. I just hope that one day I won't have to, y'know?

Sledge (walking off the staircase and onto the floor): That's what we all want, right? A world without this needless war.... Kid?

Sledge looks back to see The Kid standing in front of the mecha Metatron, which is kneeling on the floor, arms and wings outstretched.

Kid: It's not about what I want. It's about what needs to be done, and whether I'm capable of doing it. When I'm piloting Metatron, I fight. That's all I have to do. And being with it reminds me of that feeling. Like I'm exactly what I need to be...no more...and no less.
