Contrary to popular belief, Furina is still my favourite character in the game. Waiting real bad for Anastasya because Rosaria is the only Cryo polearm I remotely tolerate. (yes, this is a hate post) The only category I'd add would be "favourite kit design" which would also go to Furina.

Stygian Update: After watching a single video on actual Skirk combos, and going with Citlali instead of Mona and the time went down 7 seconds. I then swapped Skirk's goblet for the one on Ayaka and another 2 seconds disappeared. On Friday it might get even lower thanks to C2 Mizuki. #GenshinImpact

Ep. 14 "Five Obstacles" The first big battle episode of the season, with some really nice cuts of animation. It's also one of the episodes that caused me the biggest anguish with theories while it was airing because of the cliffhanger. Lets just get straight to it.

Even tho he didn't remember who she was, he still felt her influence. After she conveyed who he was to her, Wreckage-kun's mind was decided, and he surrendered himself to his greed to save everyone around him, thus activating Cor Leonis. One of the best abilities in fiction. (at least writing-wise)

We later get to see that Rui felt great positive feelings towards Subaru, so she decided to discard their source. These same memories came back when most needed to remind Subaru of who he is. A portion of Rem's memories came back in one of the most beautiful scenes in the series to save the day.

Now for the main course. The corridor of memories and it's notorious inhabitant, Rui Arneb. Starting with the place itself. The cradle of Od Lagna. A place where souls are being cleansed out of their memories/data and later reused. This has a lot of interesting cosmological implications.

Before going into the library to look for Reid's weakness, Wreckage-kun needs to have a short talk with Julius. It's a short scene, but like with every Julisuba scene it's packed with great witting. He aims to help Julius with his mindset when it comes fighting, but ends up doing much more.

Ep. 13 "Stand Up" One of my favourite episodes of Re:Zero in general, and I think my top 3 episode this season. The (first) big comeback of Rem after a decade of being gone, that fired up us just as much as it did Wreckage-kun. This was also out first glimpse into Gluttony's grand plan.

And so we get to the core part of this episode. The reveal that it was Meili who was responsible for killing Wreckage-kun in the earlier loops. Motivated by his sudden amnesia and losing the prospect of resetting her life, effectively committing metaphysical suicide.

With this simple act, he reassured her that even though he lost his memories, he's still the same Subaru she knows and trusts so much, and what's most important, it's the same Subaru that Rem fell in love with. This signature goodhearted greed that is able to achieve grand things.

Despite us seeing what seems to be the same conversation many times, it still feels fresh thanks to Wreckage-kun's more open approach, which leads Ram to be that much emotional and straightforward. This time she leans more into righteous anger at Subaru, for the wellbeing of her sister.

Favourite Sinner, Shade, Harbinger & Archon This was really though since there are SO many good choices for all of them. For harbingers I went with the one I like the most for their actions as a harbinger, not necessarily my fav character out of the group.

And since the Scribes Box suggests that Khaenri'ah begun being constructed before the fall of Sal Vindagnyr, and the 3rd descender appeared after the war of the funerary flame, there needs to be some other way for Khaenri'ah to take root without them. Koitsaritsa and Seutervoinen would make sense.

Hands down THE best episode of Re:Zero to date and the reason why I already rated this season as a 10/10. My friend tells me it somehow gets even better, but I can't see how this could be possible. We'll have to wait and see. The title drop episode lived up to the name. 82/83

The hole they're falling into is very similar to the one created by EMT in the dunes. This could indicate that the entire tower itself is created using reality warping magic, or could be even considered a pocket dimension. Explaining why the layout stops making sense sometimes. 80/83

And so Emilia becomes to Wreckage-kun what Rem was previously to Subaru. An absolute motivator, and the backbone of his psyche. Emilia looks like she wanted to confess to him again and maybe even kiss him for the 2nd time, but Satella had enough of getting cucked. 76/83

This iconic greed of Natsuki Subaru. He decides that he'll take the things that his previous self did and do them as well. "His" achievements are also his, and he will succede. He will take back the amazing person everyone loves so much, and he'll do it as arogantly as he wants. 75/83

After many loops with the skinwalker doing everything in their power to strip Subaru off his identity, he puts his foot down and reclaims it for himself. He IS Natsuki Subaru, and nothing can change that. Even if he doesn't remember how great he is, other amazing people will never forget. 74/83

Every one of them helped him get back on his feet. He's been in this world for only a couple of days and he already has many achievements. Being valued by so many amazing people is a feat to brag about. He understood that all of them valued Natsuki Subaru. Not just the one they knew. 73/83

I like how Wreckage-kun, even at this moment, after gaining a little faith in himself, still turns to self-deprecating humour. It's generally a good sign when Subaru is joking around. It means there's still hope in his eyes. That he has not given up and will try to succeed no matter what. 71/83

And in this dire situation we get our first-ever Emilia confession. A moment as grand as it should be. Subaru finally accepts that he CAN be loved. That even if he doesn't think so, others will and do still love HIM. Just as Rem's love helped him move forwards, so will Emilia's. 70/83

Just like Rem, Emilia doesn't negate any of his shortcomings. He's more to her than just his good side. The two of them once went through the same thing, with Emilia proclaiming how awful she can be, only for Subaru to accept her either way. Another great callback. 67/83

This breakdown might be my favourite part of the episode. It's so lost and confused. Throughout its entirety he keeps on negating the things he's just done. He did save Julius. He instinctively saved Eridna. He risked his own life. He tried to the very end to do right by Julius. 66/83

This is particular felt deeply personal for Subaru. Aside from the fact just how private his feelings are (even if he can't remember them), the idea of allowing himself to openly love another person. And this amazing at that? He doesn't deserve to be loved or love anyone. 64/83

This entire scene is a beautiful refrain to so many different parts of the story. Emilia once again spells out Subaru's feelings, trying to comfort him and connect with him. This time it's her who loves someone for reasons the other person doesn't know. Tappei's writing is poetry. 63/83
