I'm not usually a person who listens toa lot of ambient/experimental/noise, but lately I've been to a couple of shows that fit that bill. And I've really enjoyed those shows. There's something that comes through when performed, that recorded material just doesn't give me.

Sometime the big mainstream festival in my hometown (Øya) books something for their afterhours programme that really tickles my fancy. This year that was ULTRA SUNN. And wow did they deliver!

Caught a Castle Rat show, and wow that was fun. It was pure 80s sword & sorcery camp, and I loved every second of it. The music was heavy and groovy, scratching that itch in way only only trad doom can.

Went to a show on a whim today, following a rec from @idieyoudie.bsky.social . Glad I did. Madeline Goldstein were excellent. The addition of live guitars was a real nice touch. Darkwave with a heavy dose of dreamy pop and just enough EBM stomp to keep it interesting.
