See also: 19th Century Japanese Depiction of the British ("The Steam Engine of Takanawa Railroad" by Ikkei Shosai, 1870)
"The Steam Engine of Takanawa Railroad" print by Ikkei Shosai (1870). British engineers are depicted operating the train's engine while a crowd of Japanese people watches from a bridge over the tracks. The British engineers all look nearly identical; they're dressed in tailcoats and top hats and sporting big bushy beards and equally bushy eyebrows.A close-up of one of the British engineers from the right side of "The Steam Engine of Takanawa Railroad"

Watching Neagley. Fun show, I like the inversion of Reacher's dynamic where the lead is a normal-ish person and the sidekicks are silly instead.

Petal Crash 2 is excellent. New rule changes add a lot of play style variety, lots of cool chain setups to learn. Arcade mode is fun, have yet to try the puzzles.

Messing around with text embedding models. Wrote a thing that will remove words from a sentence while trying to preserve the text's original meaning. It doesn't seem to work too well, it'll regularly remove verbs/nouns instead of "the", "a", etc).
A demonstration run of a program that removes words from a sentence while trying to preserve meaning.
"Four hours of steady work faced us" becomes "hours of... work... us"
"A king ruled the state in the early days" becomes "ruled... state... days"
"He ran half way to the hardware store" becomes "He ran half... hardware..."

Playing Tomb Raider. Level design is promising but I'm hoping there's some real platforming challenges. Combat is terrible, not sure why they even bothered putting it in there.

Thinking about "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court". People have been writing "medieval peasants would lose their minds if they tasted a dorito" posts for over a century.
